   Disappointed to find out today that LA Veranda will be closing its doors. Luckily for us it was a first and last time to try this establishment. Glad we did. Everything was amazing from service, food, environment etc. Enjoyed every part of today from service through to succulent, tender, perfection cooked starters and mains. Hoping in near future this establishment comes back if not in mission bay somewhere in auckland.

   We had an incredible experience at La Veranda! We ordered the shrimp mango salad, T-bone steak, and ribeye steak—everything was absolutely delicious. The flavours were fresh and well-balanced, and the portion sizes were very generous. The shrimp mango salad was refreshing and light, and both steaks were cooked perfectly. The staff were also friendly and attentive, which made the night even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for a great meal and warm service!

   It was my father’s birthday and we truly enjoyed the dinner we had here tonight. We received lovely service, they were very attentive throughout and explained the menu and wines to my parents. For 4 people, we bought the seafood platter as a starter and it was definitely generous (as it says it is for 2 people). In particular, my father loves his fresh seafood. The ceviche and oysters were a highlight to start off with. We bought the T-bone and new york strip steaks and they were beautifully cooked to our liking. Also got the beef short ribs which was deliciously tender and my brother enjoyed his fish and chips. We also got the two desserts pictured available which were sweet and rich. I wish I could put more photos up. Overall, the experience was great. I definitely recommend this place. Help yourself to a bottle of wine or two (I ended up buying another one to take home) as it is definitely worth the experience. Thank you La Veranda for making my father’s birthday dinner a memorable one!

   We dined here today. We started with appetizers which were nice. But the highlight fir me was my main which was fish catch of the day snapper. It was superb. The others had Surf and turf which they said was ok and another had the lamb cutlets which she enjoyed. Meals came out quickly. Service was splendid. We had a lovely dinner here.

   We came by for a birthday dinner. The restaurant is located across the road from Mission Bay. It can be easy to miss as the entrance is a small door which leads upstairs. The menu was interesting with a range of steak and seafood dishes. They also had other meats available too. They have a range of wines which you can pick from near the dining area. The price of each item was on the bottle and it did have a selection of red, white and rose wines. What was interesting was that after picking a bottle we were charged corkage ($10) for it, so it was essentially a BYO without having to BYO. We shared some starter and grabbed a main each. The seafood platter for two was actually decently sized and was easily sharable with four people. The ceviche was quite nice as were the deep fried items. The batter wasn't super crispy but the items inside were cooked well. I enjoyed the scallops because they had their roe. I grabbed the surf and turf and that was nice. It was cooked to my liking with the tasty jus on the side. The seafood chowder was quite nice and we were able to order a side of garlic pizza bread on the side to go with it. We were unfortunately too full for dessert but they did have a sticky toffee pudding. It was quite a nice place for food in Mission Bay. The prices were a bit on the higher end but the portions were quite decent for it.

   We went there on a weekend night…the staff was nice and friendly and the service was excellent…we felt nice…there were vegetarian options and also kids meal…food was good…and the kids fries bowls were huge…superb ambience…we sat for about 1.5 hrs and had a relaxed family time …a memorable place

   Had my birthday dinner here last night. Superb food and wine. Everyone enjoyed it. Best thing to happen in mission bay. At last we have a restaurant that is high quality. Will certainly be back.
