Absolutely amazing cupcake and pie!! Possibly the best potato top I've ever had. The scones smelled amazing when I came in too. Will definitely come back for more. Also loved how seasonal the goodies and decorations are, and that there's the option to eat outside. Fully recommend for anyone in Newlands craving good cafe food.
I don't think I have ever been to a bakery that has come this close to perfecting the "home cooked" hattrick of presentation, taste and texture as well as Alyx has. I had a mince and cheese pie which has probably ruined all other pies for me forever. The cheese scone was light and fluffy yet very cheesy and toasted perfectly. The vegan cupcake! I never knew vegan food could be so good. Moist and flavourful. We are incredibly lucky to have such a gem in Newlands. My only regret is I only have 5 stars to give.
Alyx is a very talented baker who made the most beautiful and delicious cake I could ever ask for my baby shower! It was very easy to work with her as I showed her an inspiration of the cake that I wanted and she did it a 100x better! Great value for the cakes and she's also very artistic, she combines flavors really well! Good work and keep it going!!
