Absolutely loved staying at the Avani metropolis definitely one of the nicest hotels in Auckland! With rooms offering amazing views in pretty much every direction, you cant go wrong. The staff were so helpful, friendly and tentative. Nothing was too much to ask for. Loved our room with the harbour view, the room was really well lit and ventilated. Would 100% recommend to a friend and definitely would stay again.

Very average. Nothing stood out particularly positive nor negative. If I had to say a few things, I'd point out that it's spacious and quiet, but the laundry machine looks like from the 90s, the shower makes the whole bathroom floor wet (and won't dry within 24h) and the curtains don't block out the sun completely.

We LOVE this hotel. I researched over 30 hotels in the area prior to booking this one. I was mildly concerned about the bathroom situation because almost all other hotels did not have an enclosed bathroom or privacy for the toilet. So, we had two criteria: pool and enclosed bathroom. This hotel checked all boxes and then some. To start, we arrived around 6:30am. The people at the front desk were very friendly, and they were able to check us in to our room immediately. We had been flying for about 17 hours in total, and being able to take a few minutes to relax in our room was the perfect start. Walking into the room, the laundry machines and a small kitchenette are on the left, and the enclosed bathroom is on the right. The hotel provides laundry powder, dishwashing liquid, and dishwasher powder. For the kitchenette, there is a nice coffee machine, cups, plates, cutlery, a mini stove top and mini fridge. Coffee and milk are provided. Beyond that, there is a reasonably sized living space with a small table, two chairs, a couch, and a TV. Then, beyond that, the bed, a built in wardrobe, and a balcony overlooking the harbour. We were not sure what to expect, but have been very pleasantly surprised by the accommodation and look forward to booking here again.

Great accomodation in central Auckland. Despite the very central location, rooms are quiet. The hotel has a pool, spa pools and sauna, all indoors to use no matter the weather outside. The room was very clean, nice modern facilities, complete kitchen, even laundry in the room. Great facilities overall. The front desk staff was a hit&miss, check-in experience was average, the staff member could have been friendlier when explaining things. The check out staff very nice. Reception is 24hrs. Loved the layout of the hotel, which was easy to park and unload off the road. Very pleasant stay at Avani, I would stay again.

I stayed here for over a week with my family in a two room suite plus a regular room. Pros- Great location - easily walkable to lots of restaurants, shops, parks and main attractions as well as the main train station. The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. The kitchen and washer dryers were great for a longer stay. There's a nice view of downtown Auckland from the upper floors. The elevators are lightning fast. Cons- The rooms have single pane windows which for us meant that the noise from the plaza and nearby restaurant/bars is pretty audible especially at night. We got kept up or woken up most nights by loud music or yelling from outside. Sometimes even at 3 or 4am. For a 4-star hotel there were some unusual policies that were a bit inconvenient. For example, there were four of us in a 4-room suite and the hotel didn't want to give us more than 2 keys. They did eventually give us a 3rd (but not a 4th) key. We asked them to replace the sheets part way through our stay but they told us no, that they only do it once a week on Wednesdays or when you leave the room. Finally, the hot water was not consistent. Some days it was fine and others it would be ice cold and not warm up.

Stayed for three nights, location is excellent right in the middle of downtown a block away from food and supermarkets. The rooms are really quiet considering there was major road work construction over a majority of downtown. The only downsides are that we booked the room as it was advertised as a king room but they gave us a double bed. And the bathroom sink and floor tile had major cracks and the shower flooded the bathroom everytime it was used due to how it was designed.

We stayed 3 nights here and enjoyed it. Our room had everything we needed, including a washing machine, clothes dryer, dish washer and coffee machine. We had a great view from the 24th floor and could even see the Sky Tower out to the right of our balcony. Our room was serviced daily, staff were friendly and helpful and the bed was comfy. There's also a heated pool on site and parking for an extra cost. The hotel is also in a central location, walking distance to Queen St, Sky Tower and multiply bars, restaurants, cafes and grocery stores. The down side was the room could get a bit noisy with the neighbours coming and going and the kitchen floor could do with a better clean, especially under the dishwasher. Otherwise, everything was great.

The staff were amazing! So friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the rooms are a bit dated and the air con could not cool the room down when it was stuffy and humid. The staff tried helping but admitted there wasn't much they could do.

Overall experience: - Not bad. For the price, it didn’t feel like we got good value. Cleanliness: 2/5 - while I understand there is a shortage of staff in general, it’s a bit unacceptable to find really old looking trash cans and dust in many places in the rooms Location: 5/5 - location was great, easy to walk downtown and close to the state highway if you need to drive Rooms: Most room sizes are large so that was good but the furniture inside are outdated and not particularly comfortable. Not sure if I will stay there again.
