Extremely disappointing stay and nothing like what was advertised. We booked and paid for 4 people, but the room was only set up for 3. One person was forced to sleep on the couch, which was not acceptable. When we raised this and asked for a change or solution, management refused to help in any way. The room was also dirty. We found a used band-aid left behind, which we had to clean up ourselves. That alone is unacceptable from a motel charging these rates. There were also serious issues with the windows. Two windows did not have latches, meaning they could not be properly closed from inside. We literally had to push them shut from the outside, which is unsafe and ridiculous. On top of that, the kitchen window had no window coverings at all, allowing people to see straight into the room where the couch and one of the beds were located. Zero privacy. Amenities advertised were also not available. The pool was closed for maintenance, something we were not informed of prior to arrival. Parking was another issue. Someone parked directly in front of our door overnight, blocking access, and then another vehicle was parked in our designated parking bay when we came back after getting items for breakfast the next morning. Again, no assistance or intervention was offered. We were also unexpectedly asked to pay a bond on top of the hire fee, which was not made clear upfront. To make matters worse, we still have not received the bond back. We contacted the motel asking for assistance and some form of compensation, as the accommodation was not what was advertised. They refused to refund anything or offer any help whatsoever. Overall, poor cleanliness, misleading advertising, unavailable amenities, safety and privacy issues, and terrible customer service. I would not recommend staying here and will not be returning.

This lodge is absolutely disgusting, do not stay there. The grounds are atrocious, there has been no maintenance in forever, the rooms are old, unkept and feel dirty, there is no reception and the host wore a stained shirt. We asked for a refund as could not stay there and were refused. We will be contacting the Council re the health concerns of this property

Awful Truly God awful Avoid like the plague. Got our booking wrong. No one at reception when we arrived. Had to call to sort out, which took ages. Had to pay for the privilege. Check out other reviews for the dire state of the rooms, lowlights for me were broken windows & smell of smoke. Accidentally locked out the following day, 9am and no staff around!! Called the number again. Someone will arrive soon. Called again after half an hour, staff are there and will come to your room. Once again Called my Indian friend on the phone... by this time after been locked out of our room with my kid I had lost the will to live. Eventually a car pulled up, and a silent man just rolled past and opened the door. No communication, no apology, no humanity. Avoid this place at all costs.

I stayed at Takapuna Motor Lodge with my sister who has posted on our horrible experience. The problems started the minute we arrived. Firstly no one to greet you. It's really self-catering. No one is available or on site. Phoning a call centre for anything you needed even for the WiFi password is astonishing. Ever heard of an information booklet in the room. The microwave was splattered with food from the previous guests and was never cleaned in three days. The lights above the main bedroom didn't work it was an electrical problem and they sent an inept handyman that never returned to fix them. My bed was uncomfortable. The shower temperature and pressure varied wildly. Nothing good to say but avoid this place. Clearly run on the smell of an oily rag. No attention to it basic housekeeping or maintainence. Very Basic Awful.

Unfortunately my sister and I stayed 3 nights. When we arrived there was a self check in via a phone call from a centralised call centre. No milk and no wifi so I called the given number again and in about half an hour someone came and gave us both. I called that number several times over the next 3 days as there was nobody in reception. The microwave was filthy , unable to use it and the room was not made up over the 3 days. Mould On the bathroom ceiling. We ran out of tea. The lights in my bedroom did not work at all and although I called the phone number again to inform them they were not fixed which was very annoying. It was the worst motel service I have ever had. I wouldn’t go back there again. Not worth $149 a night. Horrible experience.

Rooms were comfortable and cozy. Catered to me and my family perfectly. Clean too. House keeping were lovely and consistent. The downfalls were the TV was broken, wifi was annoying and the main reason I booked the lodge was for the playground, pool and spa. Neither were in working order. Doesn't look like they've been used in years, which was very disappointing. Also, it's very inconvenient when they have no one in the office, quite a lazy service. Lucky for them myself and my family are greatful people and didn't allow those things to ruin our little holiday.

First issue was our room being double booked. We booked 1 room with 4 beds and got 2 rooms with 2 beds and 2 stretcher/fold out beds that when i moved in the night, tried to fold up off the ground. Nearly fell off many times. Rooms were also disgusting. Not just untidy but unclean and reception were not helpful at all. Rooms look nothing like the pictures would never ever come bacn.

We booked for a business trip as there was limited accommodation available. No one at reception on arrival and answered door with chain on. Rooms are not as per the photos and very hard to communicate with. They want payment in advance and no refunds or changing of bookings. Our team checked out early as they did not feel safe there and was very un-clean and smelly! For the premium amounts, this motel does not deserve to be operating.
