Average place but disturbed at night to much noise from out side. Way to much smelly around walkway and lift. Reception was not much friendly. Overall you get what you pay. Also had issues with booking we paid to agoda but person at reception told me to pay them again and take refund from agoda because they didnt received money from agoda. It should be in between agoda and the business not me. So I had to pay them at reception and struggle to get refund from agoda.

I had a pleasant stay at Empire Apartments. The location is very convenient, close to the city and universities, which made getting around easy. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere felt welcoming. For the price, it’s good value, especially for students or anyone looking for budget accommodation in central Auckland. Thank you Manger David and Team.

My experience at Empire Apartments was quite disappointing. There seem to be no proper rules or consistency in how things are managed. The rent appears to change based on the staff’s mood, and it’s frustrating to see that the same type of room can be charged at different rates for different people. When you try to ask for clarification, there are no clear answers provided. In addition, I found the staffβ€”especially Davidβ€”to be quite rude and unprofessional in their communication. The overall attitude was unhelpful and dismissive, which made the stay very unpleasant. In my opinion, this is one of the worst apartment experiences I’ve had in Auckland. For anyone looking for accommodation either long- term or short-term, I would strongly recommend considering other hotels or serviced apartments nearby, as there are plenty of better options available.

This apartment is quite cheap compared with other places. All bills are included. There is a big living room and separated spaces in the common areas. The staff are so friendly. I am satisfied with my stay here

The service at the apartment reception desk is very good, and the cleanliness of the garbage room and laundry area is excellent. The apartment environment has been improved. The newly opened restaurant downstairs has a nice taste.

Welcome to Hell! I have been living in NZ for 14 years and I lived in 12 places. This was the worst place to stay and live. Read the bad reviews below which I strongly agree. Please, be careful! Stay away!

DO NOT STAY HERE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. My girlfriends and I stayed here for our weekend away because of the cheap price & location. Pictures online are extremely deceiving, and the room was in a disgusting state when we arrived. Not to mention while waiting for our elevator my friend was creepily stared at by a gross old man due to the range of dodgy tenants for the apartments. Elevator and halls look like a Wilson car park, smells like piss and curry and is covered in stains and old gum. The room looked as though the sheets had only been changed and no other cleaning was done from when the last customers/tenants stayed. Gross stains on walls, grime and pubes in the shower and dust covered windowsills and furniture. In all fairness we did receive a full refund when we asked after we assessed the room and decided sleeping in the car on the street would be a better option than staying in the room. Literally anywhere is better than this place. This is where hopes and dreams go to die.

Rooms are of average size and well ventilated. They don't offer parking and direct you to Wilson parking (2 minutes walk) which charges $6 for 30 minutes parking. Housekeeping is poorly done and vacuum cleaners must be borrowed from reception at ground floor. This place is far away from Queen Street and is at the base of a hill - you have to walk up the slope to access city centre. There are always people fighting or blasting loud music early in the morning. If you are unlucky you will have a flatmate who constantly spray perfume in the communal area.

So I am firstly glad im alive. Not only from the state of my room ( the smell !! ) the rudest service in history and the Jeffery Darmar one massive knife available in my cutlery drawer ( maybe for protection but i would of liked a fork or spoon even to stir my cuppa ) While I was not expecting much it was so bad and the amount of times the staff got mad at me ! Firstly my TV didnt work - my fault - we booked 2 beds - there is 1 - my fault! You name it. If you have kids stay away. The bathroom had no toilet paper or scrubbing brush or anything - was just myself my best friend and our massive knife in the kitchen
