I really love my time here, the murals around makes a great hostal experience, in reception I found good customer service, they always want to help you if you need something or even indicated where you can found some of the common services in the city. The kitchen and other common areas are always clean, I feel safe cooking at the kitchen because I see everything on the place and clean. A great cultural experience, you met people from around the world, If I back to Auckland some day I will back to this hostal for sure.

Great value for money! Close to the city centre, good service, Justin and Manuel always cheerful and helpful at the reception! I initially booked 3 nights but then decided to stay more. Great vibes (: Super recommended!

I had a nice stay at Metro Adventurer Backpackers! The location is perfect, just a short walk from everything in the city. The staff are super friendly and always ready to help – they really made me feel welcome from day one. The common areas are a great spot to meet other travelers, and the atmosphere is very social but still chill enough to get a good night’s sleep. Big thanks to the team for making my time in Auckland so much easier – I really appreciate the extra help! Definitely recommend this hostel if you want a good mix of comfort, location, and backpacker vibes.

This place is simply amazing. You get the chance to meet people from all around the world, making it a truly unique cultural experience. The facilities are spacious, always clean and well-maintained, so you feel comfortable from the very first moment. On top of that, the people are really interesting, like Mr. Denis, who adds a special touch to the atmosphere. If you’re looking for a place right in the heart of the city with excellent value for money, this is definitely the perfect spot. Not only will you save money, but you’ll also enjoy a social, safe environment full of great experiences. Here you don’t just find accommodation, you find a community. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to live in the center of the city without overspending!

I'm appalled by the horrendous experience I endured at this hostel. Not only did I suffer through over 500 bed bug bites (not exaggerating), turning my stay into a nightmare, but the promise of a refund only added insult to injury. The lack of responsiveness to my emails showcases a complete disregard for customer satisfaction and basic hygiene standards. This establishment's blatant negligence and refusal to address their glaring issues is utterly disgraceful. Steer clear of this hostel if you value your well-being and expect even a modicum of professionalism.

The worst hostel I stayed in so far. The room I stayed in wasn’t even cleaned before my arrival. There was a lot of dirt on the floor and you can’t even open the windows so it get very stuffy, especially when it’s hot outside. The kitchen was alright but the bathroom always smelled weird. I felt very uncomfortable. The only good thing is that the location is very central.

I booked a 4 bed dorm for my family of 4 and thankfully phoned 2 weeks in advance to check we were in one dorm. It took several goes to get through on the phone and no one answered my several emails. Good thing I got though as we'd been put into 2 dorms, but they did sort that for me. The central location was the best feature. Dorm has paper thin walls so noisy guests (was only quiet between about 12.30-4.30) congregating in communal areas sound like they're in the room with you. Pillows thin and lumpy, our curtain was too small for the window, the room wasn't properly cleaned, the kitchen was a mess (guests fault!). Bathrooms were ok but with confusing signage. Entrance is grotty - guests drinking and leaving rubbish about - and feels very unsecure. Did manage to get a car park though. Would never use again - but if you're a young backpacker you will probably like it. Very nice Mexican restaurant just down the road was the highlight!

would not recommend. front door remained unlocked all night and the door to our room was propped open all night with a traffic cone - this led to a stranger crawling in my bed in the middle of the night. most staff were pretty unhelpful and didn't seem to care about safety concerns. I've stayed in a decent amount of hostels and this was definitely my worst experience. honestly surprised this place is allowed to stay open

The hostel were nice. Met many lovely people who shared their stories and travels. The hostel is also very close to everything like street food and groceries. One problem I faced was when I got a towel from the receptionist I took to my room abs laid on my bed. When I went out and came back someone had taken and used it. It wasn't the biggest problem, but it was an annoying one. The rooms do come with lockers so I could have stored everything there. Luckily nothing important was taken. One thing that needs to be mentioned is that the hostel seems to be fishing for goos reviews. Reason the towel was free is because they offered it on the condition I write a good review. This wasn't too bad as it only took me a few seconds and am now rectifying. But overall if you're just planning to go out and only need a good bed and storage, this hostel will fulfill that purpose. PS: there were a lot of crackheads near the area and if anyone feels uncomfortable by it, then here ya go
