Such a wonderful customer experience here, great tea & food. Staff are hospitable and responsive to customers. Great family friendly environment, good local spot. But, welcoming if you need a moment to yourself.
Coucou (Hi or Hey in French) is located in the Island Bay village. The decor is euro inspired with large tiles on the floor and clean light walls. It only takes a second to realise there is something going on here in terms of the food. The selection for a small suburban cafe is generous and varied. From donuts ( the classic cream jam bun is the most popular), to pies and wraps, to scones and quiche. I usually go for a savoury option like a cheese scone or muffin but was tempted to try the blueberry and cinnamon scone and I wasnβt disappointed. Fresh and packed with blueberries, toasted with butter giving a crisp lightly salty foil to the powdered sugar and berries. Partnered with an americano, Iβm happy! βοΈ
All round fantastic! Had a a great time at CouCou. They have a huge range of sweet and savoury cabinet foods. Had a vegetarian quiche and it was absolutely divine. So much cheese! And the pastry was just right. We also got a few sweet items to share for the table. Really loved the jelly tip donut, was filled to the brim with creamy chocolate mousse and then dusted with raspberry powder. Staff were very kind and went above and beyond e.g helping us rearrange our overloaded table! See that they do half price baked goods after 3:pm. Highly recommend CouCou 10/10

So happy to have this beautiful cafe in the area. The slice I had was GF and delicious. The service was great, lots of smiles, friendly and helpful interactions. The atmosphere is nice, really beautiful space, with positive energy. Lots of people popping in for takeaways too, really lovely to see a fresh modern cafe in the area.
