This is located on the upper floor and closer to Elliott St than Queen St. If you are a fan of collecting stuffs like Labubu, this restaurant is not only a dining place but is a mini museum. I don't know most of the items inside as well as the famous Chinese people, but I find it interesting to dine in. We tried the spicy sour shrimp and beef cumin. Both were yummy. I liked the tender beef and the servings were generous. We came at around 20:30 on a Tuesday, so there was only one occupied table. The food was served quickly and fresh. The ambience is so cozy that it adds to the dining experience. We will definitely come back here with a bigger group. Other food items must definitely be tried!

Best grilled fish in Auckland! During the time we were there at least I went to this restaurant for 4times!!! Every time had a bad day or tired day I always go to this store. And every time is for this grilled fish! Doesn’t taste fishy at all and the price is reasonable! Missing it already

Proper sichuan restaurant in Auckland! The decor of this restaurant was quite the highlight. Felt fun and cheeky. Ordered mapo tofu, tomato eggs, cumin beef and pickled fried rice. All dishes were outstanding. The beef was tender, fresh and succulent. Mapo tofu was another highlight. Would highly recommend.

The highlight of the menu is undoubtedly the spicy shrimp. The dish features plump, succulent shrimp cooked to perfection, bathed in a fiery, flavorful sauce that packs just the right amount of heat. The spice level is balanced beautifully with a hint of sweetness, making each bite an explosion of flavors. It’s a must-try for anyone who loves a bit of spice in their food. The service is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. Whether you’re a fan of spicy food or just looking for a cute spot to enjoy some delicious Chinese cuisine, Chuanshang is definitely worth a visit.

My son and I were so happy to find this gem on our quick visit to Auckland, the food was so good, we loved everything. Lots of spicy prawns, chilli chicken, and the best watermelon drink to finish which removed the spicy mouth tingles. Highly recommend, if I lived in Auckland I would visit often.

This is my first review in Google. Normally, I do not leave any review but this time, I do not think I should hold back. If I could give no star, I would certainly want to give no star to this restaurant. I ordered a soup based menu and found a large piece of ripped plastic bag IN the soup. Plastic bag cooked in a high temperature not only damages the taste of the food but could also potentially impact your health. When I called them to let them know that I was given a food with plastic bag, I wanted a sincere apology or explanation (No expectation on refund). However, the restaurant was pretty much telling me that the plastic bag is from a frozen crab and it should not be a matter at all. They made me feel like this is not a big deal and I should just move on. I think, the primary responsibility of any restaurant is not the taste but to provide healthy food to their customers - which is clearly not the case for this time. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to either change their way of dealing with customers especially with this kind of incidents or learn how to apologies at least. Would not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends and the one that I care.

Food was not worth the price at all. A piece of plastic scrap was inside the soup as well. Horrible place

Was craving for a lunch then found this place hidden on the back of 1st floor. It says a Sichuan Chinese restaurant but doesn't look like one. More like a bubble tea house because of the decorations and designs. Ordered Mapo Tofu lunch menu, I was expecting it would be the same as others, sweetness taste to fit in majority. Too me by surprise it's actually pretty Sichuan authentic salty, spicy. I love it!
