   Just wanted to say a big thank you to the hairstylist who did my daughter’s hair today — you are truly amazing. Not only did you listen to what I wanted for her hair, but you also showed kindness and patience when I mentioned she’s autistic. You didn’t judge or hesitate, and that meant so much to us. To give some context, we had already been to four salons at Manukau Mall — all said no, except one that later changed their mind and told us to book for tomorrow. Your understanding and care made all the difference today.

   Disappointing. I popped in to ask about making an appointment and ended up waiting 15 minutes befofe anyone acknowledging .. finally I get a quick, “I’ll see you in a moment.” How long is a moment? 30 minutes? Should that be the expected time to wait to make an inquiry? That’s just ridiculous to wait so long. In the past, I’ve recommended friends to this salon, but then i also heard complaints about the long wait times in between managing other clients. It’s so frustrating to see that this lack of care or basic customer service continues. I felt sorry for one of the clients with her hair full of foils, sitting so uncomfortably at the shampoo station. It looked like she had no other option but to lie there with her neck resting awkwardly on the wash bin for who knows how long. The experience just felt poorly managed and rude. I won’t be coming back or recommending anyone to a salon I used to regard as a good one.

   I had a horrific cut from Rodney Wayne’s botany 4 so months back. Waited to grow my hair a little bit more to not loose any length on the next cut. Visited Momita yesterday who did such an awesome job with refixing my hair, great v cut, low layers and curtain bangs. Really appreciated it!

   Customer service was really bad and disappointing we are actually from Australia and my husband needed a haircut and your haircut shop was the first one we walked in to, we have never got any experience like this before in our life so it was a shocked…. So we looked up and we saw that you guys are close to our location, so we drove down there and walked in we were not too sure if it was just for ladies but the name of the shop is Gender hair and beauty we also saw on the cards that was on the table there was a boys hair cut prices on it so I was like okay they actually do men’s haircut here as well, the only reason why I wasn’t quite sure it’s because when we walked in we only saw ladies doing their hairs in the shop. So we waited for someone to speak to and see if we can have my husbands hair cut on the same day as we walked in or do we have to do an appointment for it. Me and my husband literally waited for at list 20-25 minutes, there was at least 3 people working but literally they just looked at us and just didn’t seemed like they cared, like at least come up to the customers and greeting them and ask if we have an appointment and if not at list let us know if we are going to wait cause we are happy to wait because there was people there before us, but no it was dead silent in there and it was a little bit uncomfortable like how is your shop still open if this is how you treated your customers. Anyways after we stand there for 20-25 minutes I told my husband let’s go and find somewhere else to cut your hair cause they actually lost $30-40

   I can not express how happy I am with my haircut and the service I was provided. I am terrible with names but a lovely lady cut and styled my hair and it's the best cut I have ever received my hair is thick and wavy and can be a challenge but she tackled it and I am one very happy client. I'll be back 100%

   Highly recommend! I’m not a fan of getting my hair cut because the few times I’ve gone to salons my hair didn’t come out the way I’d wanted and I had to pay $150-$250. I’ve had 2 good hair cut experiences in 25 years and they’ve both been at this salon. Good service, made sure to ask questions to make sure she knew exactly what I wanted and charged a fraction of what I’ve been charged at other places. Only place in South/East Auckland I’ll go to. Book ahead of time to make sure there’s a slot for you

   This has really been an awful experience for me. I went to get highlights done. As I walk in , I was told the lights are faulty. So people be ware, due to lighting you may go home to find that your hair ain't the colour you wanted it to be.Momita talks very well, however that sweet talk did not deliver the results. She promised to do a toner for free as we didn't achieve the results we wanted when the highlights were done.She failed to mention the free offer is only for two weeks, however we got covid during that time period.I have shown her our isolation period text given by the ministry of health. Therefore we could not be present in those two weeks. My six year old child and I had it. I did call an explain to her and she happily booked an appointment for me later on.When I went in for the appointment, she went back on her word and said It cannot be done, as it's a month already. That was frustrating as she booked the appointment and everything waS explained to her on the phone. I shown her all the proof, yet she showed no empathy and failed to keep to her word. She messed up my hair in the first place. The inconvenience of going there twice, paying a high price and not achieving the results as well as ,failing to keep to their word is appalling. Terrible customer service!!!!

   Hands down one of the best places to go out south. Got my hair colored and cut, the staff were amazing. Momita is a perfectionist and ensured the colour turned out exactly like what I had asked for. Same with the cut she is very good at getting the cut to suit your face shape. Highly recommend Gender hair and beauty to everyone. Also salon is clean and tidy and beautifully presented. Thank you ladies!
