I’m not a karaoke connoisseur so I can’t speak to whether this is a knock out spot for Auckland or below the par but we did have fun. Food was okay, not the biggest portions for the price and it does very little to keep you sober. Drink selection not the greatest however there are lots of options that will get you dangerously drunk very quickly if that’s your game plan. Machine is tricky to use but all things considered it did what is needed after about 15 minutes of getting used to. Mic echos which makes the bad singing even worse. Not a bad experience overall.
Went to Ace Karaoke and unfortunately had a pretty bad experience. We had a booking for 12am, but when we arrived, the server didn’t greet us or explain anything they just rudely told us to go sit down(we were there on time it was already a few minutes past midnight) After waiting around for like 30 minutes a man who seemed like the manager finally came over. He asked how many hours we wanted and if we were drinking. We said we just wanted 2 hours, but instead of just taking our booking, he responded with “Why not book until 3am closing time?” in a really pushy and condescending way. That’s not how you talk to customers it felt like he was trying to pressure us instead of helping us. Then when we said we weren’t sure about drinks (we had already had some at dinner and didn’t plan to drink much more), he snapped with, “So are you guys drinking or not?” again, super rude and unnecessary. We were just trying to get a room and enjoy the night, not get attitude for not wanting to drink. To top it off, their system was down or malfunctioning for about 20 minutes, which delayed everything and cut into our time. Overall, it was a disappointing night. We were really looking forward to it, but the rude service and tech issues made it frustrating instead of fun. Definitely not the experience we expected, and I hope the staff can work on how they treat customers in the future.
fun spot if you’re after a good karaoke night! They’ve got a solid selection of songs, including Tagalog tracks, which makes it even better. The vibe is great for singing with friends. Not too sure about the food though, but definitely worth it for the karaoke experience.
Ordered Iced Strawberry Matcha lattes which came and were just a tall glass of milk with one or two spoons of strawberry at the bottom (actually all milk teas were just tall cups of milk, with maybe a drizzle of flavour on the side, no exaggeration). Bathrooms had no soap, our orders were consistently wrong and a member of our party subsequently had no food for the first two and a half of our three hours. $35 for three hours of karaoke is not bad I guess but not ideal if you order food and drink as part of that and can’t eat or drink what you order. Food also all arrived stone cold.
Wonderful place for a get together with friends. We got a private room and had such a great time singing and dancing. Loved the experience. Negative: the girl at the reception is very rude. Suggestions: please include more Hindi songs in the karaoke list.
Had a booking last weekend and although impressed with the look and decor, disappointed by the service and management. Upon arriving for our booking was greeted by a very unfriendly host at the bar, told our room was not ready and proceeded to get our drinks orders in. Shown to our room, no instructions on how to work the equipment, system malfunctioned half way through, a very helpful lady did help us to get this sorted. They proceeded to cut our booking short and didnt want to acknowledge that we started late due to the room not being ready. The song list although extensive didnt have alot of top european karaoke songs, many random versions of songs with out the lyrics coming up. Took a while to find your songs, and load a list.
Bad customer service. No one advised us that we need to download the songs. Service from staff and manager not good as well. Difficult to speak English with staff.
Replaced previous KTV which was getting run down. New ACE KTV Karaoke Bar is much nicer. The facilities are welcoming and new. It pays to book ahead, especially for Happy Hours. $29 for 3 hours, which includes a main dish meal and a drink from the menu. The food is not bad and came out quickly. Song selection is pretty decent. Friendly service and discounted parking at Wilson Car park on Durham Street for $8 if you get your ticket validated at the counter when paying
