   What an awesome experience, really great class (first of 2 for our puppy). Super friendly staff and really knowledgeable too. The groomer was also spot on and got our doggo a great cut, bath etc

   First time here today for grooming. I have been to many groomers in the past and Barkley Manor is by far the best. Access is easy, it's clean and orderly, staff very helpful, and Lena the lovely groomer, showed such compassion when she saw my little blind dog and I immediately knew we were at the right place. Excellent grooming done when my dogs coat was full of knots and difficult. She went in shaking and came out calm looking beautiful. Also the grooming salon was quiet and well run with Lena being of calm disposition and kind, and I could tell she was great with the dogs. Well done!!

   My furbaby, Bambam, was 11 months old when he started in Colehill Cottage at Barkley Manor in 2024. His big sister had just crossed over the rainbow bridge and we felt he needed to be in the company of other dogs for socialisation. The Barkley team made him feel very welcome and kept a careful eye on his progress, making sure that he felt safe and loved every step of the way. Bambam was a shy little fellow, but his confidence has grown over the last 15 months and he now has a little group of friends that he feels comfortable with. And as a lovely touch, at Christmas all “pupils” have individual “school” photos and a "report card" sent home. Bambam started out doing the Puppy Training and Mastering Life Classes on Saturday mornings with Jenny and her training team, and he puts lots of things that he learnt there into use every day. The groomers are first-class, he had his first groom at 4 months old and has been visiting Lena every alternate three weeks for a wash/tidy or wash/ full groom to keep his furry little body looking top-notch. Definitely the place to go to get a top-quality groom where you’ll pick up a furbaby you want to show off to everyone, not a “shave it all off” job that you have to hide from the world until it grows out! The whole Barkley team are a lovely caring group of people, and what a dream job they have, doing what they love every day in a friendly, happy environment. I can’t recommend Barkley Manor highly enough and look forward to enjoying many more years with Bambam as part of their family.

   Barkley did such a great job with our doggy. He is a rescue dog who is quite anxious around others, so we were quite nervous dropping him off. However, the grooming team listened to our concerns and talked to us through the process. We were extremely transparent and let them know about him being incredibly protective of the both of us, so he will bite if you get too close when he is with us. However, without us he's completely harmless. They were extremely encouraging throughout our conversations which left us feeling a lot better and made sure to ask different questions about the grooming so we could both be on the same page, and Shacky could be comfortable. After his groom, we were incredibly pleased to hear that he was fine around other dogs and even gave them loads of kisses. Although they needed two people to cut nails ( sorry grooming team!) They remained positive and truthful about the groom, which we appreciated. He also came out super calm and relaxed! With other groomers, he always came out shaking, sparking concern. Thankyou once again Barkley!

   Barkley Manor has been an absolute lifesaver for both of my dogs! My Cane Corso started attending their puppy program when she was just 8-12 weeks old, and she’s gone through every stage of their classes since then. The staff are so loving, attentive, and truly dedicated to the dogs in their care. My Cane Corso is completely besotted with them, and I trust them wholeheartedly. More recently, my English Pointer has joined, and he’s been settling in beautifully. The team has been incredibly supportive, especially with helping him establish boundaries (he’s quite the counter surfer!). They’ve been so patient and knowledgeable, and it’s made a world of difference. I couldn’t recommend Barkley Manor more—it’s by far one of my favorite places for my dogs. The love and care they provide are unmatched!

   Be very careful about their terms and conditions as they are very unfavorable to the dog owner. I will make a formal compliant to the commerce commission and Consumer Guarantees Act about what had happened . I started to send my dog to Barkley Manor about a year ago. At first I thought it is professional and cares about my dog. Later they kept ringing me about my dog having a small fight with some other dog and that I need to pick him up as soon as possible? Both me and my partner never saw my dog having a fight with other dogs since we got him when he was 3 months old. He has always been smart and good. I have question mark on whether they are telling the truth. Like most people , I have my work commitments and cannot just leave work whenever they request? As I need to be responsible for my work at hand but only got response “ they only care about the dog “. How ridiculous- based on Contract Law / Consumer Guarantees act, I am the owner / consumer that signs the contract with them but they simply don’t care about you at all? As a day care school, should they not have some process in place rather than request the owner to leave work immediately to pick up the dog and don’t care about whether they need to work and arrange the things at hand? What kind of service is that? One month ago I had to fly to Australia for an urgent trip and forgot to cancel the standing reservation. Later got email from them that they need to charge me for that day’s day care. I explained to them later and asked if that charge can be waived as it is urgent situation but got no response from any of them. Later I had to resort to law to request the refund challenging them about charging me when the service was not provided. Guess what - They simply kicked my dog out of the day care because I was requesting a refund when no service is provided? The accounts lady bluntly said “ the service has been provided” when I was in Australia and my dog was at a friends’s place, didn’t go to day care at all? How could they bluntly say something false like that? This is New Zealand and you need to comply with law and be responsible for whatever you communicate with your customer. They might have many customers and be a day care that has existed for a long time but none of these give them a right to distort the fact and say something that is clearly not true.

   The staff and facilities are fantastic. William loves going there and really enjoys himself. The only problem is they don't open till 7.15am so to drop William there I have to be late fir work.

   Amazing doggy daycare. The staff are friendly, caring and know most of the dogs (even if you only come once/week). They separate the big and small dogs which is reassuring. My dog is always super excited when we arrive and tuckered out when he leaves.

   Pickle has attended daycare at Barkley for over a year now after graduating from the puppy school. We were taught the skills we needed to best support our pup from the start and had the support to discuss specifics we needed help with. We adored hearing about her friends and seeing photos from her day on the facebook page. Pickle LOVES daycare and her aunties and even when we started working from home we kept a regular booking as a treat day for her. She loves the show too and seeing her friend Bartok helping yet another rescue. Thanks Barkley!
