We used to live here several years ago and loved it. We came in 3 years later while in the area and it's still the best Donburi in town! Highly recommend this place.
First of all food was good here, Bento and Donburi were yummy. Service was also good. The reason for the 2 star review is - while we were having lunch, we see the owner at the front door unloading fish and veges off a PaknSave trolley. They pushed the trolley from the local PaknSave store with seafood under the hot sun. Worst yet, when they finished unloading by the front door, the owner simply pushed the trolley on to the kerb side and dumped the trolley there. Shameful.
We got the pork katsu curry and the tempura udon noodle soup and they were amazingggg, best meal we've had in Auckland so far, definitely coming back here. The corn tea was so yummy too!
The service is really good and I enjoy the hot tea. Hope to visit there with friends next time
This is myself and my partners favourite place to get katsu curry. It’s delicious and addictive. We highly recommend the tofu katsu curry with extra tofu, it's my partner’s go-to and a fantastic option for vegetarians. I also like the prawn katsu curry but honestly all of them would be good! The service is amazing and the person who answers the phone is always so kind and friendly. We go so much he knows our order once he hears us. Highly recommend this place!
Perfect warm lunch for a cold day. Had the udon with breaded prawns as they ran out of tempura but they were very apologetic about it! Also had the chicken bento. Very simple and the food arrived quickly.
Best poke bowl I’ve had in a long time! Loved that it came with egg and mayo included. The teriyaki chicken was delicious and cooked perfectly. The staff were especially accommodating of any changes I made to the dish (I asked for more salad and less rice) and were very friendly. Amazing gluten free spicy chicken don. The chef took time to explain what changes he made for GF and it was delicious. Great quality and portion size for the price. My new go-to.
Beautiful food. Very fresh and generous serving of king salmon. Very friendly staff. I requested sushi rice on my salmon bento box and no issues made unlike other places. A nice little gem.
Our go-to place for Japanese food. Made to order and prepared in minutes, chicken, salmon and pork katsu here is top notch. Highly recommended if your in the area or passing by. If only the music was a bit louder to add to the atmosphere rather than being so quiet like a library, but nothing wrong with that.
