This place is so delicious!! Honestly don’t listen to the haters it’s so yum! With such kind staff and a warm atmosphere! Oh and not to mention the most beautiful view !!
ordered a Bueno Nachos and they left out EVERYTHING but onions. I understand it sucks to work on Christmas Day, but it also sucks to be in a position where you have to buy nachos on Christmas Day. and to make matters worse have your order more botched than a blind surgeon. Merry Christmas to me.
My daughter and myself went in just earlier and got the spicy quesadilla and my daughter got the kids burrito. We got all the toppings, fillings and it was delicious!! Well priced and easy to access. Love the window seating especially in this hot Auckland weather
I came here as an Uber driver to pick up an order for a customer. I understand the restaurant was busy and there was only one staff member working, so I expected to wait a bit. However, it seemed like she always placed Uber drivers at the very end of the list, even though I arrived first. I ended up waiting for more than 20 minutes and finally had to leave with nothing. I don’t understand why delivery drivers like us are treated with such little respect.
Nice decor. Staff not overly friendly but sufficient. Beef chilli/mince burrito and taco were okay. 2 wrong orders given and meat was terribly dry and not tasty at all. Not impressed at all!!!! Don't recommend eating here at all
The server was polite but brought out one thing at a time, my boyfriend finished his tacos before my food even got to the table. The beef tacos were cold, i would understand if the salad was but the meat was like it came straight out of the fridge. The nachos had lots of refried beans but barely any mince. Quite disappointing. Waste of my money.
This place is consistently 6.9/10 "Mexican" food --- you can count on it to be what you order at least. Just get a burrito, ask for 1/2 less rice because their ratios can be pretty off sometimes. It's not great, but it's never bad - and is actually fresh tasting, unlike the horror shows that most "Mexican" restaurants will present you in Auckland.
Myself and a friend were here tonight for a super light dinner. The food was actually okay but the service was bizarre. The guy serving us was vaping in between taking our order as well as while he was preparing the order right in front of us and the food took a really long time despite no other customers in store and only order sides. We both also work in fast food hospitality so understand it sucks sometimes but this was like nothing we’d experienced before.
Anson from Mexicali Ponsonby has been applying his trade for well over a decade, is an absolute legend and home to the best cali burrito in Auckland. Big fan of the shredded chicken tacos as well. Highly recommend trying. James Ashwin Kakapo Business Sales
We went to Mexicali for brunch. Greeted with lovely smiles and hospitality ! The waiter allowed us to create out own Nachos with double meat or pulled pork and mince etc. Such lovely service and delicious tasty food !! Great value and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !
