5 out of 5 authentic Mexican! Excellent food, fabulous atmosphere, and impeccable service. Big smiles (not just from us as very happy customers) and would absolutely recommend the spicy margarita, chilaquiles with green tomatillo salsa and Al Pastor pork, AND chicken taquitos = 100% yummy. Will go back, maybe even for dinner.
Great find, had dinner here recently & the food flavours are exceptional, every dish we had was excellent & I'm still dreaming of the chocolate dessert with a mexican espresso martini. Do visit, you will not be disappointed & say hi to Edmundo, he is a very special & beautiful human being.
Wonderful food and phenomenal service! This was my first time trying Mexican, and we had heard that this restaurant was friendly to gluten free - but this was so good! We had a few questions for the owner, who explained the cooking process (very thoroughly as well) and he eased all our concerns! The food itself, was light and delicious and the flavours work really well! The additional salsa dip was perfect! 100% would recommend!
I'm from Texas originally and moved to Ohio, and when I tell you this was on par and better than a lot of Mexican food from Texas I'm not trying to fool you. I just got off a 19.5 hour flight and took a shower and was looking for something to eat. Found this place and had the fish tacos and lamb tacos and my goodness, I thought I was happy just making it to New Zealand, if the food is anywhere as good as this place I'm going to be willfully much lighter in my wallet. So good
Great food and a lot of options. Had the tacos and nachos which were very nice. The staff are super friendly and offered recommendations when asked.
I liked everything about this place, the authentic food, the service - we were offered Tepache, a refreshing fermented pineapple drink - and the cacti. Try the chilaquiles with chorizo, delish! They are very busy on the weekend so order a margarita and enjoy the atmosphere while you wait.
This is not a planned visit, but we were surprised on the various drinks available but food was quite limited and not everything on the menu was available. It's nice enough place to try it out.
I stumbled across Tacoteca, which has only opened very recently, on my way to another establishment and thought I would give it a try. I’m so glad I did! Amazing food, fantastic service and great atmosphere. I had the ‘No Mez No Cal’ zero alcohol Margarita, delicious and really hit the spot. Then came the food, Chips & Guacamole - beautiful fresh corn chips with a generous portion of guacamole, topped with grilled pineapple and pepitas; and the Beef Suadero Taco, which was divine, with beautifully balanced flavours and textures. Highly recommend Tacoteca and I am looking forward to coming back again next time I’m in Auckland.
