   This place definitely feels like the best sushi spot in the city. Every time I eat here, the freshness of the ingredients really stands out. I’m a big fan of salmon, and all the salmon dishes are so good. The tempura is nice and crispy, which I love. The portions are generous, and it always tastes great. The staff is friendly too, so the whole experience is always a pleasure. I stop by for lunch a lot during work, and sometimes I even crave it on my days off

   Dine-in, takeaway and Delivery available. I ordered the Spicy chicken Donburi and vegetable rolls(pieces) through Ubereats. The ingredients tasted great, the Chicken was nicely marinated but the Donburi was not spicy, more like watered down for western tastebuds. The Donburi ingredients were fresh and the vegetables were crunchy which went tastefully with the chicken and soft white rice. It was nowhere close to feeling oily, very healthy. The vegetable rolls were small and the proportions of the insides to put was not great. Little amounts of vegetables insides and it was more roll than vegetable. The packaging was good and securely sealed and was appropriate for the dishes each container carried. The price is very fair and student friendly. Great for a weekly night out or lunch out.

   Would give 100 stars if I could!! I was after some authentic and delicious Asian food for my birthday and this place hit the spot perfectly! The best Mapo-tofu I’ve ever had in my life and a very unique Chashu fried rice that will have me going back for more in the future. The smell of the wok fire wafting from the kitchen as the chef whipped up my meals was divine. I even asked for a takeaway meal after I finished so I could give some to my family. Forget about all those fancy Asian-fusion restaurants with pitiful portions and crazy prices! Come to Matsu for your Asian cuisine cravings and you won’t regret! Even better, you can get their food ubered to your house if you are in central Auckland.
