Love the view and tranquility of the forest landscape, and city lights at night. Dinner in the restaurant was lovely, and convenient, as the location is isolated. Was given an upgraded room with better view and access to the car park.
We were not sure what to expect when we booked this accommodation many months ago. We were blown away upon arrival. The resort of charming on the inside and with the spectacular views on the outside made it an ideal place to sit back and relax. The views were captivating. Rooms were spacious and with the glass deck made it a beautiful spot to just take in the scenery - with plenty of birdsong in the background for a lovely melody. Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful with ideas of where to visit in the area or just how to make the most of our stay. Dining (we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner) were excellent and the views just added to the experience. In the bar area there is an upstairs library that is like walking into a time capsule back to the early days of the resorts construction.
We had an exceptional second stay at the Waitakere Resort. A very stunning location and so peaceful. The food was superb and the service excellent. The views exceptional. The interior is a mixed of vintage elements and stylish modern rooms. The expansive guest lounge was a treat - open fire and a wine with good conversation with other guests. Like going back in time. We look forward to our next say - a summer one to enjoy the gorgeous pool. Thanks again to the lovely staff at Waitakere Resort.
The man at the front desk (Avi) was fantastic. He was very friendly and welcoming. One of the best customer service experiences I have had. The rooms were clean and tidy, with amazing views. The location was peaceful and quiet. Spa bath was a real treat. The restaurant was fantastic. Great service and lovely food. It was a great way to celebrate our anniversary, thank you!
We had a wonderful stay for my birthday. It’s a beautiful hotel with great staff. Our massage and sauna was excellent at the spa and sitting on the big, open balcony in the evening after a stroll on one of their bush walks was so relaxing. This was made even better by the food. The restaurant is highly recommended, especially for dinner. One of the best we’ve had for years. Can’t wait to return.
We had a very nice visit, with the three course dinner and full breakfast as part of the deal which we found good value. Ursula was excellent, real multi tasker, reception and serving the lounge bar and chatting with the customers, she's really got personality for the job, lovely, chatty and has lived plus confident. Being short staffers made the dinner very slow with only one chef. Wonderful views both from the dinning room but especially from our rooms windows, incredible vista, up and down out East over the south, central including Rangitoto, then way up North, lights for ever, just great.
We went here for our anniversary weekend and it was just fantastic. Stunning views, extremely friendly and helpful staff and great day spa. Also big compliment to the restaurant team. Food has been delicious. Perfect if you need to get away from the busy life in Auckland but not wanting to drive too far. Plenty of stuff to do around. We definitely will be back soon!
Very happy with our stay here. Rooms were very quiet, views were great and I felt that what was advertised was very accurate. Staff were very friendly, we did not eat at the resort so cannot comment on the food. Thanks for a great stay team.
Waitakere Resort and Spa is tucked away in a wonderful location with stunning views of both the city and a beautiful rainforest. My husband and I went to there for 2 nights and we loved it. The staff were friendly and very accommodating, the breakfast we had was delicious and the room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Not too far away from the city but not too close either, a wonderful place to retreat.
A lovely resort that is well managed. Stayed for 2 nights at this lovely property. The property is located in the Waitakere estate and is away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The property offers amazing views along with a pool, helipad, a garden (for functions) and well appointed rooms. The rooms are spacious, clean and have the perfect set of amenities. The restaurant offers great food and drinks. The staff right from the reception to housekeeping, kitchen and F&B were great. I will recommend the lower section rooms (9, 10 and 11). These rooms have their own patio facing the pool and offer an amazing sunrise view.
