   An extremely friendly greeting lead to some of the best food we have out in a loooong time. The chowder and Pork Belly was incredible. The deserts were next level tastey! The staff were very friendly and great service. We will be back very soon for sure.

   4 of us dined in for first table. Starters were delicious, Seafood chowder, garlic bread, shrimp cocktail and a low carb platter of battered cauliflower, mozzarella sticks, and jalapeno balls. 9/10 We all had the Scotch fillet for mains. At $44 (full price) it was one of the worst steak meals I've had. Plain tasting. Just the steak, some lettuce leaves and chips. Chewy and sinewy. Shocking for the price wish I got the pork belly. Dessert, 2 of us had the Whittaker's choc mousse. Pretty good. The sorbet that comes with it was good. Overall, pretty average

   The bartender was very friendly, but the food was truly a huge disappointment! Due to work, I have to endure such bad food at least once a month... Occasionally, I'd rather buy instant noodles from the supermarket next door... The steak had a strange burnt smell, like the smell of burnt lard... The doneness of the steak was also inaccurate, and it was extremely tough... Really, even with my eyes closed, I could make something better... The worst steak in the world, without a doubt!!! It's a letdown to the hard work of the other staff! I've shared the picture, 42 New Zealand dollars... The company pays, so my complaint has nothing to do with the money...

   I enjoyed the comfortable booths and abundant natural light. A relaxing place with good decor. The staff and their service were wonderful. The menu has NZ hearty meals with good portions. Will return for their pumpkin soup✌️

   Stayed at Angus Inn as had a conference in Lower Hutt. Had breakfast here. It was nice. I had eggs on sourdough and added bacon and a mocha. Staff were friendly.

   Great first impression, fast service and friendly staff. Starters were amazing, recommend the wings and ribs. Delicious. Chicken sandwich (it's actually a burger) was very avg. Bun far to dense, chicken in small pieces and overcooked. If they can get this right it would be 5 stars!

   Okay, let's go in order - the garlic bread was barely warm, and very dry. The squid rings, a $17 dish, were also barely warm and the accompanying sauce wasn't 1000 Island as advertised, but a spicy chipotle or similar. Next, the pork belly. $28.00 for a small square of dry (and again, barely warm) pork. Have put a fork in the pic to give scale. The dessert was a bowl of apple stew with some type of crunchy sugary topping. Advertised as coming with a cream chantilly but came with ice cream. Did we run out of 1000 Island and cream? The service was sparse, and we didn't get asked if we wanted more drinks and I had to get someone's attention to have dirty plates removed. The pace wasn't busy nor were the staff so that's no excuse. Maybe this place needs an overseer. Someone in a leadership position to have things moving and checking with customers as to their drinks and food.

   Opted for their recommendation pulled pork sliders × 3 and cheritzo & prawn brioche × 3 both with fries and wedges, so tasty and freshly made. order of salmon bagels...loved these.. Waffles served with pear and walnuts wiped cream Fantastic. Brilliant friendly staff...Highly recommend. Stunning very clean bathroom..appreciate that !!
