   Super nice steak if you want to treat yourself. I found the service was a bit slow but the food was top notch. They show you the cuts before you order which is really handy as if you are not an officialdo then it is not clear what you are going to get. Order you mains, sauce and then side. You are talking about $100-$150 per person by the time you include drinks and sides. The meat was super tender and glad we came. We went on a Thursday and it was busy, with people sitting outside. Well worth a visit and the food quality of food is excellent.

   My partner and I visited Jervois Steakhouse on a busy Friday around 1:45pm—and from the moment we walked in, we knew we were in good hands. The ambience is warm and inviting with classic steakhouse charm—leather chairs, rich brown tones, curated art, and a glowing fireplace that adds just the right touch of comfort to the upstairs space. Now let’s cut to the chase—the steaks? Absolutely divine. Absolutely worth the price. We shared the mighty 800g T-Bone and a perfectly marbled Scotch Steak. Both were cooked to perfection and packed with deep, satisfying flavor. The hollandaise and mushroom sauces were the clear standouts—rich, velvety, and the perfect complement to the steaks. But the real surprise? The Wagyu fat roasted kumara. Sweet, smoky, and finished with whiskey caramel, pecan, and feta—it stole the show. Honestly, it might be one of the best sides I’ve ever had. The potato gratin and seasonal greens were also excellent, but that kumara… unforgettable. We paired everything with a couple of bold reds that brought it all together. Dessert was a crème brûlée and a classic affogato—simple, satisfying, and just the right finish. Service was outstanding—genuinely warm, knowledgeable, and perfectly timed despite the lunch rush. Our waiter went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable. His recommendations were also excellent! In short: top-tier food, flawless service, and an atmosphere that feels effortlessly polished. We left full, happy, and already planning our return.

   Great staff, looked after the whole night with our Argentinian host. Ordered the A5 Wagu ($190) and $200 T-bone for 2. Lots of good sides too. Sauces were good, bearnaise, peppercorn, jalapeño hollandaise, red wine jus and garlic butter. First time at Jervois Steak House and will definitely be going again. Have been to lots of Steak Restaurants and should have been sooner. Food was very good and the host made the night. Table was upstairs. Recommended

   We visit occasionally, beautiful steaks and their sauces are fantastic. Love their sides, portion is generous and will definitely fill you up. Their service is excellent and even though it’s not cheap but I find it to be good value given the quality of their food. A bit hard to park in the area, you may have to go a bit further and turn into the side roads.

   From handcrafted and perfected cocktails to perfectly selected cuts of meat, this place was AMAZING! We celebrated my husband's 35th birthday at the Auckland location, and our experience was nothing short of perfection. The apps were delicious and the steaks were cooked EXACTLY how they should be. My Dad had the petit filet, my husband the Scotch filet, and I took down the 800g T-bone. The meat sweats afterwards were totally worth it. The sides came in hearty portions and were very tasty. I wish we lived in NZ because we'd definitely go back!

   Steaks tasted amazing and the truffle Mac and cheese were to die for! Quite pricey and portion size for sides much smaller than when I last came here so don’t expect to get full from sides. We also got the steaks medium rare but one steak was closer to rare side and the other closer to medium (so turned out a bit tough - a shame for wagyu). Good dining ambience and dishes were served promptly. Not a perfect experience so 4 stars.
