The owner Sally is so lovely and accommodating. The rooms are dated but comfortable. The motel is close to the airport (10mins) and 30 minutes walk into town or 5 minutes Uber or drive. It's across from the hospital, you'll hear the helicopter coming in, other than that, it's nice and quiet at night time and beds are comfortable.
I recently stayed at this motel, with my husband, due to its convenient location near the hospital, which was a huge relief during a stressful time. The room was well-equipped, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was cozy and comfy, ensuring a good night's sleep, which was much appreciated. One of the highlights was the amazing water pressure in the shower, a small luxury that made a big difference. Additionally, the motel's proximity to shops and restaurants made it easy to grab essentials and enjoy some meals out. Even though it was on a busy road, there was hardly any road noise, only the occasional helicopter or ambulance (to be expected near a hospital though!) Overall, it was a practical and pleasant stay. Nice place and very convenient, being directly across the road from the hospital. I was able to park my car there before check-in as I arrived early, which was a big help. The Motor Lodge is perfect if you’re visiting the hospital or have a relative admitted, as the location couldn’t be better. Staff were accommodating and quick to help when needed. Very affordable compared to other places in the area
For an older motel, the hospitality and service, and the location to the hospital far outweighed the upgrades the motel does not have. When my husband had a heart attack and was helicoptered to Wellington, the beautiful lady that runs the motel was extremely accommodating, including letting me leave my car there after I checked out so I didn't have to pay for hospital parking while I was waiting for him to be discharged. The water pressure in the shower was amazing. There was more coffee, hot chocolate, and sugar sachets than any other motel I have ever stayed in, and for main road, it was pretty quiet in my room. The location to Wellington Regional Hospital couldn't be better. Literally straight across the road. And there are lots of amenities in walking distance including a supermarket. Would I stay here again? Without a doubt. Would I recommend you stay? Absolutely, as long as you can overlook the need of upgrades and just appreciate what a hard working dedicated motellier provides in terms of hospitality and warmth.
Great location if you have famiky in Wellington Hospital. Needs a good Upgrade all round. Pleasant staff.

Clean rooms ,well serviced ,free parking,great staff great management who just can't do enough to accommodate your needs, close to restaurants, takeaways ,supermarket and reasonably priced can't say enough about the place
