Dr. Jaspreet Singh and his team at Wellington Regional Hospital provided outstanding care throughout my treatment. His approach was friendly, calm, and highly professional, and he acted quickly when my situation required urgent attention. He went the extra mile to secure a cancellation slot for my surgery, which was essential for my recovery and overall curing process. I am extremely grateful for his dedication, clear communication, and genuine commitment to patient care. Highly recommended. Thank you Dr.Jaspreet Singh.

Public hospitals have had a shortage of funding for a long time now. This has placed huge pressures on all staff and the front line medical professionals in particular. Notwithstanding this day in and day out they do a great job. I can personally attest to this. I arrived in an ambulance and was admitted to emergency. Despite the pressure the nurses and doctors were under I felt that while they were attending to me I was the only person in the ward. I was admitted and had surgery the next morning. The whole time there was clear communication of what was happening and I was invited to ask questions. Everyone was friendly and professional and that included porters and cleaners. And the friendliness and efficiency was carried through to the outpatients as well. My appointment was at 11am. I was admitted at 11.01 and had a thorough examination and was out by 11.20. My total experience from beginning to end was universally positive. Thank you to everyone who I came in contact with and those behind the scenes who made it all happen. Peter Barker

Staff are lovely making the stressful experience feel less scary. Great service There is a wait but that is expected with all hospitals. Staff are amazing at communicating, and say your diagnosis in a way you can understand. Any questions you may have Staff wont hesitate to answer and again will answer in a way that can be understood.

As my parents get older we have started having the occasional visit to the ED, and the experience has been fantastic. Yes there can be a wait, but that's not the fault of the lovely and incredibly hard working staff. Every person I interacted with was friendly and compassionate, and took the time to make sure our needs were met to the best of their ability. My heartfelt thanks for caring for my whanau.

This has to be one of the best hospitals in NZ. I stayed here a year or so ago. Great staff and awesome food. Thanks very much for looking after me. Dan

I have been here 4-5 times in the last 2 months and while staff has always been friendly and kind, the waiting time is absolutely awful. Every time I have consistently waited 2+ hours to be seen. When I go, I put aside half a day for it because I know I will be waiting forever. Today I waited 2.5 hours to be seen for 2 minutes to inspect my surgery wound. If you can, go to Bowen Hospital, not this one or come prepared with things to do. Otherwise will be wasting so much time. I could have watched an entire movie during my waiting time.

I understand that hospitals are severely understaffed at the moment and I appreciate doctors and nurses for all they do, however i’ve had some sub par experiences at this hospital. I overdosed in an attempt to kill myself when i was 14 and while being treated, the nurses and doctors were amazing and super nice. a mental health team saw me before i was allowed to be released. they made me feel like a complete burden, implying that i was taking up resources and time that could be spent on other patients.they showed no compassion or empathy towards me, i felt like i was wasting their time. after i was discharged it took months to find a psychologist, despite me being suicidal. (i don’t blame the hospital, this is more directed towards the mental health system) i also have had to get blood work done which has been managed by the children’s hospital. they would send a referral to a local blood clinic for what i needed to be tested for. however, i never got this done because the first time i showed up, the hospital hadn’t sent the referral through. so my mum emailed them to let them know they hadn’t sent it through. they assured us they would send through the referral. we went back a second time, no referral. my mum phoned and emailed them multiple times, trying to ensure they sent through the referral. We tried a third and fourth time and then we simply gave up. so much effort for something so simple
