   I had my hair cut today by Alber, and it turned out great! He was really friendly and asked all the right questions to ensure I got the haircut I wanted. Very reasonably priced too.

   My first time had a normal cut, no so great looking untidy after showering as well as he doesn't spray any water on my hair before scissor cut , most places they do as a old traditional way. $35 is bit expensive for normal cut.

   Do NOT recommend at all. I very clearly told the barber to only cut the sides and front. He didn't wet my hair and instead scissored through very quickly and amateurishly. He then proceeded to move to the back, after SPECIFICALLY being told only to cut the sides and front. He erased 4 months of growth in a few seconds, hacking away with no precision or care. My hair is extremely important to me and I regret going here.

   I recently moved to Karori from Kelburn and only used this barber as I was walking past the shop so took the opportunity for a short trim on the top and tidy up #2 on the sides. The barber (whose name I didn't ask) was lovely, polite, and had good conversation. Overall my haircut took about 15 minutes. I will not be going back and would not recommend this barbershop. I noticed pretty quickly that the length on one side of my head was not trimmed equally to the other and had a tuft of hair poking out above the ear, which was pretty obvious. I didn't say anything at first because it was so obvious that I thought the barber would have tidied it at the end, however this was not the case, and had to ask him. When I got home, I also noted that my hair was not trimmed or lined around my ears, and was quite scruffy. This is a very typical thing a barber tidies when giving a hair cut, and couldn't believe this was not done. If I'm being really critical, the trim on the top of my head was 'Box-Like' and did not compliment my face shape. When you go to a barber you expect a certain level of quality and the basics done right, this was not the case. Especially when they charge you $38 for their time. Needless to say I will be making the trip to Kelburn back to my regular barber.

   Alber was the barber on duty when I went in. He was nice and friendly. I noticed that there weren't any prices listed anywhere in the shop, so I didn't know what I was going to pay for a simple buzz cut (nothing extra). Turns out it costs $25 for a buzz cut. It's not terrible, but I usually pay $18-20 on average. The haircut itself was fine, but a little too gentle. Like, he never pressed the clippers against my scalp and ran it along my head, he just kind of hovered slightly above it. Anyway, this place wouldn't be my first choice, but it works.
