   Visited here 22 November absolutely disgusted with the staff here. My 3 month old just had major surgery I was looking for some shoes as mine had no grip. The staff were to busy standing at the counter talking to each other laughing and screaming acting really immature and not proffional at all. The shop was full of customers they were being so loud the music was way louder than other shops. When I asked for help they made you feel like you were rude for interpreting the lady grab the shoes then threw it at me from 1 meter away across the ground. We walked out absolutely disgusted so did others that seen. A lot people were commenting how bad the store was. Was absolutely messy box’s with shoes in them everywhere. The girls that work there take no pride at all. I really hope mangers sort this out or watch ctv footage! By looks of it I’m not the only one to say! We went to JD had a lot better experience

   First time shopping here. Was sold the size smaller than I had asked for, worn once and realised they didn’t fit. Returned to exchange for the correct size and was refused an exchange because they “looked too worn”. UPDATE: Hi Platypus, thanks your quick response - I appreciate you trying to resolve this as quickly as you can. I spent 40 minutes speaking with Muni on your website, but was told "at Platypus shoes, the default size is in US men's sizes" and "...they cannot be exchanged or refunded."

   -⭐ If I could give negative stars, I would. I had the worst experience with Platypus Shoes. I ordered white Nike Air Force 1s online on 25/06/25, and they were sent to the wrong address by the Manners Street, Wellington store (served by a staff member named Kane). When I finally received the shoes, they were clearly used and dirty — scuffed soles and stained insides. I took them to the Christchurch store, where the retail manager agreed to order a brand new pair and said she’d personally check their condition. Later, I got a call from the Manners Street Store saying the new pair had arrived at Christchurch store on High street. But when I picked them up they were two different sizes. Seriously? I called the Wellington store again, and the staff (Manager)had no explanation — just attitude over the phone. This is beyond frustrating. The staff are clearly untrained and careless, and the customer service is absolutely unacceptable. I will never shop at Platypus again and strongly advise others to avoid them too. Also, guys very poor communication with customer service who reply one message in 10 minutes time gap. So, just giving you heads up, no point in going to go to customer service ahead because they will reply with the formalities saying, “Ohh we are really sorry that this happened to you” please discuss this matter further with us using refrence blah blah blah…. Totally useless and hopeless company

   I was served by Alexandra she was really great, made the process comfortable since I didn’t buy shoes to often. Showed me all the different styles, prices and sizes. Also when I had no data to check my bank account she offered to hot spot me, really went out of her way. Thank you a lot Alexandra :)

   Went in on a Saturday to check out some shoes. It was obviously a busy day but they only had one person walking the floor so it was very difficult to ask for assistance or try on what we wanted. Also when we went to the counter to pay they seemed very abrupt and impatient.

   Customer service is terrible. No help offered. Staff Tafara couldn’t be bothered, only put a bit energy and words in when he tried to upsell, then change his attitude straight away back to being rude. Not even thank you when we paid, just chucked the bag on the counter. Disgusting manner ! Train your staff!

   Having just had an experience with a snooty saleswoman in another shop, Vanza was a breath of fresh air. Not only did she find me exactly the trainers I have been looking for but she was also right about the socks! They are super comfortable.

   Was helped by Ziwei today at Platypus, great to talk to. Helped me figure which styles and colours of Chucks suited me and the outfits I wear. Gave plenty of white shoe care tips as well. Went above and beyond, especially since I asked for sizing up and down and up and down.
