Edited review June 2025, now our regular local for fish and chips.

Really Friendly service but the food is nothing to write home about. Just deep fried everything. Satay sauce very milky and the orange beef had a weird taste. Bit on the pricy side for what you get.

Cost a little bit more than my normal takeaway. However, the food was so much better and very fresh. Will now be going to this store moving forward when in need for a fast dinner ✅

I've asked to add more heat (make it more spicy)to fried rice and charged me extra but ended up getting black burned fried rice withput any spiciness in food. Also it's hard to communicate with the lady at the counter, asked about the burger but end up with getting extra patty (not free) in to burger.. At that point, well... I'm having dinner with a extra patty on my burger. Sigh.

I spent 23 dollars on 2 scoops of chips, and 2 battered fish. The chips were soggy and undercooked. The fish was insipid in colour, undercooked and one was smaller than the palm of my hand. NOT worth 23 dollars. Highly disappointed, I threw the entire package in the bin. Never again.

Been coming here for over a year now and my family and I love it! Food is always tasty & the burgers have goo solid meat patties. Reasonably priced, clean premises and the service is always fast and friendly. Many thanks!

These guys are our regular Chinese takeaway in Whitby even though we don't have it very often. Our last visit was really disappointing. Our usual order of Egg Foo Yeung had shrunk by what looked like half the container size from our last visit and the price had increased by about 30%. The Sweet & Sour Pork (also 30% price increase) was a lot of tiny pieces of pork, much was seemingly just batter. Maybe it was the dregs from the bottom of the freezer bag? The taste of both dishes was as expected but it is such a marked change from our previous visits, for meal size, quality and the price increases. I accept that prices are affected very much by inflation these days but the huge size reduction of the Egg Foo Yeung made that price increase rather unpalatable at over $50 for two small container. Sorry guys but we won't likely be back, such a shame as you used to be good (if pricey compared to other takeaway options).

Pleasantly surprised after reading the reviews. Lovey, cute old lady gave me my good chinese food. Looked in the back and it was very clean.

Last two visits to Whitby Chinese Takeaway have been very disappointing. Their food lacks flavor, meat or vegetables. Get a noodle dish, you basically just get the cheap part... it's ALL noodles. Same goes for rice dishes... it's nothing but rice. The food quality at Whitby Chinese Takeaway is appalling! It's a real shame because it was good once.
