   I came to Auckland City for a conference in November 2025, and over the past few days I’ve tried a few Japanese restaurants nearby. So far, Fugo is the best Japanese restaurant I’ve had since arriving in the city. I ordered the Spider Roll and Teriyaki Salmon. The salmon was incredibly fresh and delicious, although I didn’t really like the teriyaki sauce spread across the bottom of the plate. The service staff were polite and friendly. The only downside during the meal was that they didn’t offer complimentary hot barley tea, which is something you always get when dining in Japan.

   We were warmly welcomed and treated to beautifully prepared, delicious food. The Harumaki was a standout—perfectly presented and absolutely bursting with flavor, with a sauce that was simply to die for! What an incredible find that made our night out feel truly special!

   Went to visit Auckland with family, had a wee walk the city and walked pass this japanese brasserie. Outstanding food, and service. Can definitely everything served is top notched and prepared passionately. Blue fin tuna sashimi and soft shelled crab were exceptional! And everything else is just perfect! The staff was really friendly and accommodating too, especially we have 3 little ones with us! Will highly recommend if you're near sky tower, and don't hold back!

   Wow when looking for a place to eat late on a Monday night, I found this quality gem of a Japanese restaurant. The edamame chilli garlic was something else and chicken egg rice was perfect, not dry at all and just the right amount. Warm hospitality well done.

   Nice, simple but delicious food. Possibly the best value Japanese meal in Auckland. The service was excellent, and the owner was friendly and welcoming. This will be our regular Japanese restaurant. The food was so good I forgot to take pics of the rest of the meal.

   Traditional Japanese style cuisine at reasonable prices. Lunch is highly recommended, with a wide range of dishes on the menu, including donburi (bowls of rice) from $10. In autumn(around mid-May) homemade salmon roe(Ikura) may be available.
