great place to stop qnd grab a pie. nice seating in case you want to sit and enjoy it, or you can speed out of there in a rush. tons of flavour options which are usually well stocked.
Sadly, having once lived in Mount Maunganui and getting BakeShack daily, today's pies were far off the mark of the quality remembered. Pepper steak pie was purely pepper sauce and little steak. The pastrami sandwich was a poor effort. Sliver of pastrami, lettuce, a thin slice of cheese on dry white bread. Sad. The NZ economy has hurt us all but its no excuse for standards to drop so much.
I hate to give such a poor review over only trying one of their mince and cheeses, but I dont want to give anything else a chance. The mince and cheese pie tasted like burnt chemicals. It was disgusting.
I bought a Bake Shack Potato Happy Sausage Roll for my Husband. He was busy so I tried it. There was none left when he came for it. How sad. I would definitely recommend the Roll. It was very large and very tasty.
Good plain Kiwi pies and stuff. Catering trays available to load up if you need a lot.
Yummy, delicious pies! They're too good and I love the Steak, Mushroom and Blue Cheese pie the most. Very good and when I'm not in Tauranga I'm very happy when I see a dairy stocking Bakeshack pies! The ham "big boy" rolls are also amazing but tend to sell out way faster in comparison to the other rolls. I think the ham rolls are the best, I wish there were more/extra to accommodate the fact they seem to be the fastest seller.
Hands down, best pies around. Good sandwiches too! Parking can be a bit of a mission but that the only down side
Good quality pies with reasonable filling quantities. A bit on the small side which is probably due to the price compared to other bakeries.
As a food tour guide it is always a pleasure to bring our local and international guest to Bakeshack for a fabulous Tradies Morning Tea experience. For over six years you folks have provided superb pies, custard squares, cream donuts and smiling happy faces when we walk through the front doors.
