Love the Portsider! Wednesday night steak night is a favorite, as is the rotating seasonal rissoto. The owners are also fantastic - welcoming vibe, delicious food and amazing drink selection. What more could you want!?
We were a group of 10 - the food arrived fast considering our fairly large party. Everything was delicious. Fresh, tasty, large portions. Very good wine and beers as well. The desserts were out of this work. Delicious chocolate almond lava cake and crème brûlée. Very vegetarian friendly: several options in the menu and our Waitress also offered to modify a couple items on the menu.
A great place to enjoy a meal and a drink. The service was friendly and could not be faulted. Our Ploughman's lunch was very enjoyable and large enough to be shared. The atmosphere cosy and comfortable. We'll look forward to returning
Food was absolutely delicious. Stopped in on a shore day from a cruise. If your looking for fresh, honest food made well, here's your place. Also the Peckhams Farmhouse cider was very yummy.

For starters, edamame with soy and a splash of the Local hot sauce. Our main courses were the Market fish and the sirloin salad entree. Both dishes were yummy. The fish was cooked to perfection, with a delicate balance of flavors and the sirloin salad was a delightful combination of tender meat and an interesting mix of greens, including flavorful microgreens. Both were also presented beautifully on the plate, showcasing attention to detail. Portions were generous, ensuring we left fully satisfied. As the evening progressed, we noticed the restaurant filling up quickly, emphasizing its popularity among locals and visitors alike. We highly recommend The Portsider to any travelers seeking a top-notch dining experience—our advice: go early to secure a spot in this cozy gem of a restaurant. We hadn’t been to the Portsider in a couple of years due to being overseas. It’s still wonderful and the food was delicious. My wife had the risotto which she said was delectable and I had the Salmon filet which was expertly cooked! The vibe of the establishment is warm and inviting. We can’t wait to come back.
A excellent pub/restaurant in Port Chamler, the vibe was brillant and relaxed, felt very cozy. The staff were super friendly and helpful, a great range of beverages on tap and a good selection of wine. The food was brilliant, super tasty and filling! Highly recommend going to if in the port area or even in Dunedin, worth the drive!

Great Menu.The flavors were a delight to the taste buds,from entree too desert. The service was awesome. Pip has great knowledge of the impressive range of craft beers and wine. I definitely recommend trying the portsider.
Great range of unusual beers. We shared bittebullen to start and the spring onion and pea were light, fresh and flavourful. I had rump steak with peppercorn sauce and the best onion rings, slices really. Excellent value and service.
