Food with average biggest problem was the extremely small portions. Time to find a new fish and chip shop
This is our local fish and chip shop and sadly we are getting increasingly frustrated with the chip portions. They are always inconsistent and more often than not very small. Staff insist the chips are weighed, yet the amount varies from visit to visit and we're left feeling ripped off. Until the shop switches to a standard scoop so every order gets a fair and consistent volume of chips I will be going elsewhere.
I have been Coming here for about a year now. I usually get the fresh snapper which is always beautiful but they had none tonight. The fish i bought was crumbed terakki. It didn't smell nice and tasted awful. I couldnt eat it. The chips were ok. Very disappointing when it's so exspensive.
Wonderful, tasty crispy chips and buttery fish made this an awesome treat, will definitely pop back if we’re in town, thanks guys
The Snapper was fresh and cooked so well its now my go to when Fish and Chips are on the menu
Staying at the Havelock North Motor Lodge and decided to have fish and chips for tea, from directly across the road from the motel. We both had a piece of battered snapper and scoop of chips. I had a pineapple ring, hubby had a sausage. We were VERY impressed with the meal. The snapper was probably the best we've ever had, and the chips were great - really crisp and a beautiful golden colour. Very generous helpings. Would definitely recommend.
Just been in for the first time in a long time. Old manager gone, service with a smile and simply beautiful fish and chips. Don't have to drive to Napier to get a feed anymore
Second time in a row our order was not good. for one, there gourmet hotdogs is nothing but a battered sav. the menu should state this considering it costs $4. This time, as we have before, we asked for a battered sausage. and again got a plain sausage. the mussels on the last two orders were way over cooked, so threw them out again. wether its the people taking the order over the phone, or the cooks, its not been good enough at all the last few times. So never again will we go there. ever.
Fresh fish always superbly cooked. Generous portions. Great prices. Best in Havelock Nth and Bay for fish and chips. Orders are always on time. Friendly owners and staff. Highly recommend.
