On the plate at Bay Espresso Karamu Road, the idea is coffee-and-cabinet and well executed. There’s room for a casual brunch with friends. Team members keep things friendly and on task. Meals land promptly at the pass. Coffee pours are consistent and well textured.
I love going to Karamu rd bay espresso. Fantastic bacon and eggs and coffee, value for money. Lovely courtyard to relax with your pet. Fast and efficient service. They quickly learned my fave order and make me feel like they know me personally.
Absolutely DELICIOUS food!!! NOT OPEN TO 3pm on Saturday. They were closed at 2:20 Delicious pulled pork eggs Benny and organic coffee!! Yum

Delicious and fresh food with generous portions. Didn't try the cabinet food but it looked good! Great place for brunch. Has indoor and outdoor seating
Served my food ten minutes after the other cooked food at our table (I ordered first). Specified clearly no mushrooms. There was honestly half a plateful of mushrooms. Sent it back. It got replated onto a cold plate, not remade, and delivered back to me 8 minutes later when it had sufficient time to get even colder. Pro-tip - no one wants cold fried eggs, cold fried tomato, cold toast, lukewarm sausages. I am not sure why a cafe would even try to serve food in that condition. They seemed a bit surprised and put out that I was asking for a refund (I ate less than 10grams of it checking temperatures only). Unable to refund onto my card, so gave me cash back. I was still with our table, and they bought me a freshly made lunch. But again, it had a pile of mushrooms in the middle. I pointed out that the mushrooms were the problem all along, clearly stated by me as not to be put on my order. They took it away after some more insistence from me. They asked me if I would like the meal boxed for takeaway. I declined and said “no, it has mushrooms, I do not want it”. Another few minutes later they bought a takeaway container over and put it in front of me. We opened it, but it has the fu*king mushrooms in it. We are never coming back. Also noticed 12 large blowfly’s hanging around in the seating area.
Small with attitude, lovely staff and great food. Smallish premises but everyone fits in. Good selection of food with lovely coffee.
Sadly, I will be dropping this off my places to go list. Service was slow...person more interested in leaving for the day. Coffee, which is usually a superb flavour was weak and milky. When my heated food finally came out, it was slightly burnt. Didn't realise all this until i was back on the road. There looked to be a change of staff/ ownership since last there.
Good atmosphere and service. Talented and fast barista. I haven't eaten here for a long time, but I will be returning soon! They even went above and beyond and remade a coffee for our group because she looked "unhappy" with her latte art! That's service!
