The place was busy and I can see why. Lucky we had booked. We were visiting and people we had spoken to recommended this place. Honestly, the food tasted soooo good. I had the BBQ Bacon Smash burger and the Hogtail Fries. I usually follow my meals with a desert if eating out but I literally had no room left. I didn’t even finish all my fries which was hard as they were really delicious. The price was well below what I thought I would be paying for that type of quality.
We finally made it here. We’ve heard all about this place. Well we were not disappointed. We wanted to try so much so we got their Texas Tray! WOW it’s perfect, theirs so much on it and it gives you a bit of everything. From the moment we entered to paying the bill at the end the service was truly on point. Especially Kelly who was incredibly helpful and friendly. We can now say we’ve experienced Black Betty’s! If you’ve been meaning to try this place please do, you won’t be disappointed. What a fantastic asset for Hastings. Well done to the owners and their team, I hardly write reviews and only do so if I’m greatly impressed - which I was.

If you are looking for genuine USA smoked food, this is your place. Daniel, owner and chef is a true master of smoking foods, including his own twist to the corn bread. Tastefully decorated, with great background music and lighting enhances the setting. Down an alley which makes the experience even more genuine, easy seating, fresh and friendly staff, smokers are beside restaurant all adds to the experience. You won't go wrong here. Walk ins yes, but reservation would be better I suspect as very busy when we visited at lunchtime on a Saturday.
Went to Black Betty BBQ last night with family. We all had an amazing experience. The food was as good as I had hoped, and as good as the BBQ I've eaten in the US. Very good fun and friendly vibe inside, and a big shout out to all the staff who were really friendly, and super accommodating to our needs. Would definitely go back again.
Tasty food, with melt in your mouth slow cooked meat. The service was good with fast preparation of our meals. A good sized burger and the toasty something different, in a good way. I would come back again for sure. The atmosphere was rustic, backyard mates garage kinda vibes and it wasn't too busy for a Friday afternoon. Thanks!
