After 15 years ownership of my Kiwi 505 I went to Latham at Reid Marine with a slightly open mind of the cost, service and workmanship to look at upgrading my faithful 90 two stroke. Concerned of hole shot, mid-range power and reliability I opted for a like for like in a 90hp 4stroke, the team at Reid Marine gave me what I needed, what I wanted and more, all I asked for was fulfilled the workmanship was better than expected, the customer service was top class both from lovely Lesley at Yamaha to Latham and his team at Reid marine, Latham would text me photos of updates at 6.30 at night with a head lamp in the dark working on my rig while I am at home in front of the fire, its not the best boat in the harbour but its my best boat and the team at Reid Marine treated it that way, Thank you Latham and Lesley at YMF, you made my upgrade a memory of fun and excitement not just another bill. To that end the motor is fantastic, the power is mind blowing and I now have peace of mind to go where ever the family wants me to go
They had.a $60k boat for sale, I rang several times and emailed about 5 time with some questions I had on it, after the calls they told me too email so they could answer them, no answer. After these 7 or 8 attempts to contact them I gave up, absolutely no contact back or answers to my questions, I don’t even know if the boat was really for sale. Customer service dosnt exist here.
I’ve used Read before for outboard services and today I popped in for an issue with an inflatable boat pump I brought from them. Questionable if it was user error or a product fault. I didn’t have my receipt etc. They sorted it out on the spot. No messing around. Very highly recommended! I was super impressed with their attitude and customer service! They have a great team!
I am deeply disappointed with the service provided by Read Marine for our outboard motor. We initially brought in our working outboard for servicing, expecting it to be in good condition when we picked it up. However, to our dismay, upon our departure for a trip, we discovered that the outboard was completely non-functional. Upon returning it to Read Marine, it became apparent that their initial service had been subpar. The fact that we were handed back a faulty outboard, which they claimed to have serviced, reflects a severe lack of professionalism and expertise. It's incredibly frustrating to trust a service provider with an important piece of equipment, only to have it fail when you need it the most. Their compensation offer was utterly inadequate. Initially, I was offered a $28 bottle of oil. When I declined this offer, I was met with impolite behavior and begrudgingly given a $50 reimbursement which was about 1 fourth of what had been paid for the service. The entire experience with Read Marine has been incredibly disappointing. Their lack of competence in both outboard service and customer service is evident, and I cannot recommend their services to anyone.

Read Marine made a customer for life out of me today. You couldn't have been more helpful today fixing me wee 8hp Yamaha impeller and wiring for my stop switch. You even stopped to show me some things I didn't know. Bloody fantastic service and so friendly. I would 110% recommend these guys to fix your boat. I'm bloody stocked!! Thanks again Read Marine team
This place is awesome! The staff and mechanics are super helpful, going above and beyond to communicate. Very very affordable pricing. I had a full service done and many repairs done on my 60hp for much less than expected. I would highly recommend read marine for all your boating needs. From repairs to engine services. Excellent run business!!!
