I took my new medic alert bracket in to get the chain shortened, it was done while I waited excellent service and the lady that served me was absolutely wonderful, friendly and welcoming

Me and my girlfriend went into Grieve Diamond Jeweller as we began our search for wedding rings. Fiona, the showroom manager, welcomed us in and showed around the entire store. My girlfriend fell in love with a certain sapphire they had. We then had Grieve Jewellers make a custom ring from our description and based off the sapphire. The result blew both of us away and we could not be more pleased. They were extremely helpful and willing to work with us to make our vision a reality. Thank you again Fiona and the craftsmen who made this beautiful ring, we are very grateful.
I recently had the pleasure of purchasing my engagement and wedding ring from Grieve Diamond Jeweller, as I wanted something personal I thought an independent Jeweller would be better than a chain store for what I was wanting, as we have only recently moved to Hawkes Bay I didn't know any of the local Jewellers so we just went in to the store for a browse and we're delighted to find a beautiful ring that was just what we wanted, the staff were super fun and friendly and offered great suggestions for styles to suit, I'm not in to big or blingy and I didn't feel pressured to buy something that wasn't 'me'. I also had a personalized wedding band beautifully hand engraved to match the art deco style of my engagement ring. I just wanted to say thank you to the team at GDJ for making the process easy and enjoyable, and I really love my one of a kind wedding band. Highly recommend Kyleigh and the team.

I took some jewellery into Grieves to get a value on how much they could potentially buy it for. I supplied two certificates of valuation with this, showing how much the diamonds in the pieces were already valued. They said for me to leave it with them and they would let me know once this valuation was complete, they mentioned NO cost to this service. There was also nothing signed. I came in this afternoon to collect my jewellery and they told me it would be $280 to get my jewellery back, and that they had completed the valuation. I thanked them, but was confused because I already had a valuation, and my purpose was to get money for these pieces, not the other way around. I was served by a woman called Fiona who was very rude, cold and inconsiderate. I made it clear I had fallen on hard times and that was the reason I had bought the jewellery in, in the first place. I apologised for the miscommunication and said this was obviously on both of our parts so perhaps we could meet down the middle. She said the best they could do was charge me $200 instead of $280. I am appalled by the service here. Not only did they charge me for something I didn’t verbally/sign agree to, but they were condescending, rude and unapologetic.
Staff advised me a 2x minute job would take half an hour and cost $10 as if it wasn't worth their while to do. Went across the road to Pascoes where they promptly did the job for free.
