Came in the other day to have a browse and it honestly sounded like I was in a pub. The amount of crap the staff was saying to each other was unreal, the type of stuff you'd talk about on smoko. I ended up finding something I wanted and when I asked to test it, the guy with long blonde hair made is seem like it was such an issue. Terrible customer service.
Tried to sell a guitar head today and the 'electrial' person, didn't know heads need a load (speaker) to turn them on, or you risk blowing it up. When I told Nick this, he was incredibly unprofessional. Think twice about buying electrial equipment here. I do not like writing bad reviews. You have been warned.
Possibly the trashiest customer service experience I've ever had.
I totally recommend coming here. I got given a chance to get a Loan and I was approved out of all the Financing companies I tried and Cash Converters believed in me giving me a chance to prove myself that I can make my payments and afford it. To the owner of Cash Converters Dunedin, I would sack the two staff members that you had working the morning of 19/3/25 at 11.30am, they were a totally waste of time and I would replace them as fast as you can with robots, because if you had robots working that morning I think you would have sold me a laptop, because that's what I came in to your store to buy. But your staff were to busy behind the counter talking to each other about their life's, so no one served me so I left your store with no laptop and the only thing said to me when I was leaving your store was, have a nice day. (what a stupid thing to say to someone when they were leaving your store, but they couldn't even say hello when I past them to get to the laptops). Total waste of my time today and I wont be back. I had to give one star but it should be zero stars for zero service.
The staff at Cash Converters south Dunedin are great and very helpfull. I would like to offer high praise to Sharni who offered me excellent advice and helped me to resolve my issue.

I needed an SD card for a retro digital camera I’d bought a week ago and I’d exhausted options, being sold a dud card by Noel Leemings GeorgeSt, had awesome help from Harvey Normans trying to solve the issue, but ultimately, like Jonathan’s Canmera today, failed to get the camera working. Phoned the experts at International Camera in Merivale Chch and was given friendly help (the SD card needs to be less than 2GB - which is the problem, they no longer make them as of four years ago - and as influencers are making retro digital cameras cool again, it’s near impossible to find them even online….. Enter TJ - at Cash Converters Dunedin. I was actually embarrassed asking my question - as I’d gone to the desk where people pawn stuff, but upon explaining my dilemma to TJ, his eyes lit up. ‘Let me go out the back!’ He returned soon with a 2GB SD card which - grrr - was a no. SD CARD ERROR! said the camera for the zillion th time (Jonathan’s had taken me down from 16GB to 4GB to no avail). But TJ still looked optimistic. ‘Let me go out the back again’, said he, looking very thoughtful. ‘That sounds hopeful..?!’ I said as he raced off. And then….. the Man Returned, literally with a bag full of used SD cards and he pulled out a 1GB One and as he put it in his eyes lit up…. No error message! He pointed the wee beauty of a camera at the wall like a pro and ….. thumbs up….! He had cracked it. Went out of his way. Hunted and problem solved like a pro that not even the experts could help me with, and worse - telling me the internet would not even give me joy. So TJ - you bloody champion, you deserve a raise. Above and beyond, the service - and the enthusiasm he had to help was epic. Thank you so much!!!!!
Visited there looking for something, no customer service. Felt ignored so went elsewhere
Friendly staff and good customer service provided. Service was done in a timely matter and was able to leave the store with some extra cash. Items were easy to find and store was well presented which is always a plus.
