The worst customer service I've ever seen from an NZ Post. You can really see the difference with how they treat white people and people of color. The eye rolling and the big sighs they let out if you ask them to repeat stuff they mumble to themselves. It's like they're not even trying to speak with you they just start mumbling words and expect a response. The smiles, greetings and small talk they offer to white people give way to poker faces and disinterest once it's a person of different color. Stay away from these folks.

Appalling customer service. Just blatantly rude. Need to hire younger more happier staff as the old staff that work here are just outright rude. There is no reason to treat people with such rudeness it is extremely sad to be treated this way. I walked out crying because of the way the old white lady spoke to me as if I was dumb, it seemed to me that she spoke down on me because of the colour of my skin, assuming I am dumb and I couldn’t read or something. The old white lady seems borderline racist. I’ve never been treated this way until now at this post shop. Being kind is free she may need to be taught how to be kind and respectful. After all that is what customer service is all about. Do better.

Poor service today. I politely asked for a bit of tape to secure a gift we were sending to a friend.(We just bought it) The two workers were dismissive and rude, saying, “we don’t hand it out.” I then showed them the gift card, already wrapped in glad wrap and cardboard, and asked again. The staff member grumpily replied, “you should’ve done this at home, it’s not our job,” before reluctantly slapping on two pieces of tape. There was no greeting, no “how can I help?” or even a polite “sorry, that’s not something we normally do.” It was just tape—such a small request that could’ve been handled kindly. Instead, we left disappointed, as this is not how customer service should be.

Forgot to ask for her name, but the blonde-haired lady that assisted me was friendly, patient, and a little funny too. She usually serves from the left counter (customer-facing). I was having a bit of a frustrating time today due to a label generating issue with NZ Post Business, but she was really kind with understanding the situation and did her best to help, which was very much appreciated. The place can generally get quite busy, and the staff seem to be doing their best, though I believe they are understaffed. Please keep up the good work despite the occasional negative (but valid) feedback from other customers! *I hope you pass this to her - I know she won't see this as she mentioned that she is not great with computers*

Nz post you are fabulous especially the Mosgiel lady. Today I had another courier company deliver a parcel and just leave it at the front door in the rain. Nz post came along to deliver another parcel and moved the pervious parcel to a safer and drier spot. You guys rock, you’re always friendly when I see you and you actually care. Thank you so so much, appreciate it.

I was shocked at how the staff spoke to a young man in front of me today. They were rude, insulting and attempted to escalate his frustration at not having pay-wave as he had no other way to pay. His demeanour showed he felt shamed by them. The staff member insinuated that he should carry cash like everyone else but her tone was rude and condescending with a full shop. The Staff member beside her then began to gossip about it to the next customer in line.. these ladies need a real instruction on customer service professionalism and manners. The young man involved held his manners better than they did, I’m absolutely gutted at these grown Women!

This place used to have polite staff but was treated very rudely seconds after i walked in to get some forms for my new Id card on Feb 11. The blonde woman at the desk shouts at people to sign in. It easy to see why people including myself give fake details when they curtly get told to sign in cos if she asked politely then people would give their correct details

I went in to pay a bill and was greeted with exceptionally rude and condescending behaviour from the staff, who made the whole interaction incredibly unpleasant. Based on the previous review, this seems to be the standard of service one can expect from this post shop... I feel sorry for locals who do not have transport to access postal services elsewhere in town.
