Good gym. There's a lot of classes you can take. Nice and cheap - free if you're a student at Otago University. The cardio room is often quite busy, and the heavy weight rooms feel like no women allowed.

Rented a surfboard and caught amazing waves, the board did all the work. So grateful for the helpful staff, Mark was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, he knew exactly what he was talking about. The quality of the gear was fantastic and for a very good price too. Definitely recommend hiring your gear from here!
Top spot to rent sports gear, student and public rates
I go to the gym at this place, and absolutely love it as a student, however would really appreciate if at least the gym alone is open for a bit longer to fit around more student schedules.
Unipol has excellent gym, sports and recreational facilities. This is an excellent location to work out with its wide variety of machines. Unipol has a vast number of exercise classes available to attend as well as multiple courts set up daily for variiua sports to be played with friends or even strangers. This location is wonderful for the local university and polytechnic students who get free admission to the facilities upon presenting identification.
The space is beautiful, really well equipped. The staff incredibly friendly. Had a great experience so far! :) *6 month update* So, being honest, it was the first time in my life I joined a GYM, and I have to tell you that I am having a great time! I had not familiarity with some (or most) of the equipment, and I had no idea how to create an exercise schedule for me. So I stayed a “fitness programme”, in which the UNIPOL staff helped me to create one. Not only that, but the group classes offered during the week are super fun! Is is nice to see everyone struggling together and realise that you are not alone trying to improve. I am defined discovering muscles that I did not imagine I could feel pain on… but it is worth it in the long run.. Hahaha! It can be quite busy by the end of the afternoon, but people are generally polite with each other, so it is easy to follow a schedule and alternate equipments. I would definitely recommend UNIPOL for students, staff and family.

Great place for fitness group class
Beautiful facility, lots of equipment that caters to each body part. Love the row machine and the cross trainer. Really good quality machines! Probably the best I've been on, in terms of gym equipment. Does get packed, just need to find that moment that is suitable for your needs. Thanks Unipol!!
