   Went here and PAID for a bottle of Veuve at the bar. Another bartender approached us rudely shortly afterwards claiming we stole it and treated us so disrespectfully. Told her to go communicate with the staff because we paid for this bottle. She went to the staff who confirmed we had paid for it and she rudely came back saying to tell us she “just had to check” but didn’t even apologise for her disgusting behaviour and was still horribly rude. Wish I’d spent over $100 on a bottle of wine somewhere else, shouldn’t have wasted money here to be treated badly.

   Should be 0 stars. They discriminate against disabled people, telling wheelchair users that they must message on Facebook messenger to inform that they want to go to the club at least 2 hours before- even when you message they don’t let you in. Bouncers are horrible and rude. It’s 2023- wheelchair users go clubbing too!

Whether it's an international DJ, our weekly club night DEAD CARTEL or just a standard Saturday night, when you enter the gates of Hell you'll lose yourself in Dunedin's most immersive nightclub experience.    Absolute nightmare. Venue can maybe hold 225, people. Went on a Friday night to see Sachi, and supposedly they let in 400, although I would estimate closer to 500. Crowd crush was horrible on the main floor, bathroom situation was terrible (never seen a worse bathroom/ bathroom line in a club in my entire life). Management for some reason decided to move the dj stand off the stage and down to the dance floor- which was already small- and made the crowd crush immensely worse. Upstairs VIP area was basically empty- could have been used for overflow but selfish owners will be selfish owners I guess. I can’t stress this enough- Catacombs is not just a bad club. It’s a DANGEROUS club. Tons of safety and regulatory violations for occupancy. Should be massively remodeled at best and permanently closed at worst. I’m lucky to be big and tall but the girls I was with are not- they were constantly being pushed, crushed, and groped. Shame on the Catacombs.

   Really overcrowded and people kept pushing me so i nearly fell over. Definitely way over regulation to the point where i had to hold my hands in front of my ribs so i could breathe. Music was so loud i could physically feel my cochlear hairs snapping and i still have tinnitus. The shoving got so bad i nearly got punched in the face by a drunk guy trying to stary a fight. The only reason this is two stars is because the music is actually okay.

   Awful overcrowding and unprofessional. No crowd management, staff just watched as there was more and more pushing. Eventually was pushed to the floor and was stuck down there. People stepping on my ribs chest and stomach. Was pulled out barely conscious. Staffs response was to immediately get me off the property and left me outside in the rain on a cold night. A random girl had to call the ambulance. Nearly lost my life and still suffering injuries. Shocking behavior from the club, to immediately get me off the property. Had two drinks the entire night so intoxication was not the issue.

   An exceptional night club, we always receive amazing service from the Bar Staff and Security! We always have such an amazing time here. Listening and dancing to whatever DJ they have on! Highly recommend on your next night out!
