The nurses here are great however the doctor that saw my 4 year old daughter wasn’t concerned about the fact she hadn’t urinated in 20 hours with minimal water intake, high fever for a week and no eating!! just left in the waiting room for hours just to be given antibiotics for strep throat which they had diagnosed incorrectly the day before

I would just like to say a big thank you to all the doctors and nurses and staff for the excellent friendly treatment I received from them during my Emergency stay in hospital Full credit to all the staff .you are all a huge asset to our hawkes bay .I'm sorry you are under resourced at times But you still hold your heads up high and get on with your Very hard working environment . My appreciation starts from the st John ambulance staff who brought me up to A&E Thank you . And the A&E staff who do there assessments .thank you . And then the porters and nurses and doctors and surgeon and anesthesist who performed the emergency surgery I required .a big heart felt thank you to you all . You are all angels .

Some of my clothing went missing while I was in the ED, but I did get them back a few days later... after I left hospital with no shirt or shoes. I had to wear a gown home. Need a better system.

Hubby had a visit to the endoscopy clinic today. His appointment had to be changed due to various reasons but he was still seen in a timely manner. They bent over backward to ensure the appointment could be made at a time suited to us as we have overseas travel booked soon. All the staff we dealt with from those who made contact for appointment times, nurses & doctor were so caring and kind. The procedure was carried out in a very professional way and we were given all the information once it was time to leave. Well done HB hospital

August 2023 It deserves a zero . My past post was long but if you want to know anything read the HDC reviews or the News in the last month or news about to come out . Women please be careful if you are having surgery check the surgeon reads your notes . As there is no accountability physically, mentally or financially to cover medical misadventures. Our agencies in NZ cover for the misadventures the surgeon does . Not financially or mentally or physically for the patient hardest lesson to learn and I never want more women to go through it .

My review is primarily about ED - Unbelievable. No help whatsoever. Leave vulnerable patients sitting in ED for hours. Putting patients who potentially have covid out in the entrance foyer where everyone coming in and out can breathe their germs and get sick themselves. So disgusting. Not to mention the place feels dirty. Somebody left a RAT test on the seat in the entry foyer and not the cleaner nor 10+ nurses got rid of it. We were sent there by 2 other organisations expecting we would be helped.. And quite frankly, ED were useless. We went there and achieved absolutely nothing, even though they could see something wasn't right. Worst experience in any ED ever

I entered urgently on the 13th around 10 p.m., friendly and quite efficient treatment, thank the medical team who treated me perfectly, the waiting time was long but I don't care because there were more patients in worse conditions than me Thanks also to the Manager and administrative services, I am a Spaniard residing in New Zealand, I understand that these medical services generate a large economic fracture, if so, I do not know how I am going to pay them because I do not have health insurance, divine providence will be my salvation, many thank you hospital

Staff at Hastings hospital are awesome they get 5 stars. Too bad the facilities are beyond their use by date. Buildings are run down and getting a park is always an issue, especially if you're disabled. I often have to park on yellow lines or a footpath as there aren't disability parks available.
