Big Valley Takeaways keeps things classic fish-and-chips and focused on flavour. A sensible spend for the quality. Fried rice and classics arrive hot and even. Blue cod and other fillets arrive fresh with light batter. Service stays present without fuss.
I should had gone with the bad reviews, Spring roll taste like mince was off,curry roll wasn't curry enough wasn't very nice,chips were under cooked took awhile to cook it all only thing was nice was the sausage,,they don't make them, First time there and will not go back.. Hard to find a good chippy shop
Visiting Dunedin, our host purchased fish n chips from here and it’s the worst I have ever had. Chips were soggy and the color of the old fat and the fish were covered in something that seemed like bread, definitely not a normal batter. Could not eat it. Serious improvements needed before this could be deemed edible.
Fish was off and bad taste throughout the chips. Only nibbled on a couple. Through them out and called DCC. Don't recommend going there at all. Beware ⚠️
Visited again and food was great. Recommended chicken wings. So good. Chinese meals are great value too. But they are quite slow so recommended call before pick up. The shop is very cold. They normally busy around 5-7pm.
Unfortunately after seeing good reviews we tried and I got gastroenteritis, my hubby and I did not enjoy this. Overcooked chips, under cooked chicken, the burgers we ordered we said no beetroot so they added betroot. There was more lettuce than steak in my burger and hubby's patties were not very nice. The fish was definitely not fresh. Very disappointed.
