The kitchen at Ombrellos Kitchen & Bar takes a classic fish-and-chips path and lets the food speak. A coastal backdrop rounds out the stop. Grill work shows a clean sear and rested meats. Portions are generous yet well judged. KΕ«mara fries and sides add a tidy finish.
Food was average - decent enough to accompany a drink. Wouldnβt come back solely for dinner. Claimed to only cook steaks to medium rare (so youβd think they would be good at it) but came out rare.
Food was lovely. Enjoyed all the dishes I got. Service was friendly and efficient. The staff did so great dealing with our large group. Will definitely be going back
Venue was perfect for the size of our group. Great atmosphere which leant itself well for people to move around socializing before the food arrived. The food was delicious, well presented and plenty of it on the plate. The staff were courteous and helpful throughout the afternoon and at no time did we feel any pressure to leave after the meal. Thank you for helping to make our event so enjoyable.
Terrible experience. Go to a pub, the food is much better. We booked in advance. Nobody there to seat us. We had to search the place to find someone. We ordered some starters ... they didn't arrive at all. Food took 90 minutes to arrive. We complained during the wait and was told they had two big tables arrive do nothing they could do. Complained again after around 1 hour 15, and was told that they told us it would take a while. Food that arrived was terrible. Chicken looked like it was bought in slices from a supermarket. Vegetables tasted frozen. Sauce covered everything with a thick, buttery, oily mess. Couldn't taste much apart from pasty butter. Terrible. Avoid at all costs.
Pre match drinks before the big game at the stadium. Was packed but kept everyone fed and watered very well. I didn't eat there but the food I saw coming around looked and smelt delicious. Will try and get back next time in Dunedin

Such a tasty meal. I had venison, husband had steak. Both meals cooked to perfection. Very pleasant service too.
Nice friendly Bar and Restaurant. Loved the space, great use of old cottages. The service was efficient and friendly, the chefs even waved. Food was great. I enjoyed the mushroom risotto with chicken added. My wine was nicely chilled and probably explained why I spent so much at Kilt afterwards. Overall the atmosphere and space really made for a great lunch.
Very pleased with food selections! Had a huge delicious steak with side of slaw and kumara chips. Super yummy! There is a great collection of beers on tap and in the bottle. You choose ! They are nicely accommodating food allergies and offering several options. Desert was also yummy! I recommend to visit this place . You wont regret it !
