We just ate here for Saturday lunch and omg it was fantastic. The food was top notch. The service was personal and attentive. Im writing this review from a beanbag chair in the back garden. You couldn't ask for better, honestly. Thank you so much for an awesome lunch. We can't wait to come back.

The special pizza was sold out, but the very kind staff helpfully suggested an alternative topping. The hospitality was excellent, and the atmosphere was great — I highly recommend this place!
"The One Next Door" in Akaroa (or nearby, on the route) sounds like a fantastic find for anyone journeying between Akaroa and Christchurch. It seems to hit that sweet spot of offering diverse and delicious food in a welcoming setting. The menu appears to cater to a range of tastes, which is always a plus when traveling with companions. You highlighted the lovely burgers, pizzas, and the Asia-style chicken teriyaki. Parking is just right in front of the restaurant. Convenient if you travel with kids or senior citizens.
Very good pizza. My husband said one of the best he had had. Our host was friendly and attentive. All our food arrived promptly and was pipping hot. We sat in the area at the back of the restaurant in a sheltered spot in the winter sun and it was very pleasent.
A real find. Lovely atmosphere - funky decor, clean loos. We had the charred broccoli - perfect - the pork meatballs - delicious and generous- and a Calzone, which we took away as everything was way too big! Yum!
I have been twice and both times had excellent service from friendly local staff. Food was great and meal sizes were adequate.
Very quiet when we went while next door was busy at a rainy lunchtime. Tried to order pizza but was told it wasn't available until after 4pm - pity the menu doesn't mention that. No barista here, only filter coffee but that filter coffee is very good - it comes with cream. Had the salmon gravlax which was excellent, curly fries and burger also very good but fish and chips had soggy fish.
