This fish and chip shop was such a wonderful surprise during our trip to Diamond Harbor today. We ordered two Catch of the Day (blue warehou) with chips, and the food was incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. Even my parents β who are usually not fans of fish and chips β couldnβt stop talking about how good it was and said it was definitely worth coming back for. It was honestly the best fish and chips dining experience weβve had. The entire shop is spotless, tidy, and thoughtfully organised β from the kitchen and counter to the dining areas (both indoor and outdoor), and even the toilet. What impressed me most was the heart and effort Dave, the owner, has clearly poured into this place. It shows not just in the food, but in every small detail that makes the experience so special. We truly loved this place. I would happily come back to Diamond Harbor just for it. Wishing you all the very best, Dave β and thank you for such a memorable experience.

Came for the fish, stayed for the banter. If I ever had a business I'd get this chippie to run it. He knows what kiwis love, good banter and great food. The place is tidy and clean, plenty of seating in and out, and a selection of fish including catch of the day - hint * if it's Blue Warehou go for it, best value fish and it's delicious. Crispy light airy batter too, the kind that makes you go back again and again. Chips are epic too with a selection of salts. I will journey from afar to try this place again - see ya next time ya bloody legend.

Best fish and chips Iβve had. The squid rings and pineapple fritters were excellent and well priced. The staff were nice and the service was quick. The restaurant was silent but the view outside was amazing. The drive was long but definitely worth it. Will be back soon.

Best Fish and Chips in Canterbury! The fish was so fresh and it was lightly battered so you really get to taste the freshness of the fish. The owner was so friendly as well! 5/5 for the service! We also ordered two of the burgers on the menu and it honestly was really good too!

So pleased to get yummy gluten free, & battered fish and chips which are not cross contaminated. This business owner understands the consequences for someone with coeliac disease. The business is meticulously clean, and the service is always excellent. Portions are also very generous and cooked to perfection. (Not greasy. ) We live local and are thrilled to have a great business which we happily recommend.

I give salt a solid 5/5! Iβm a fussy eater and loved there F&Cs - chips were crispy and fish was fresh and crunchy and not too oily. Friends ate the burgers and rated those 5/5 as well.

Overall great experience. The food was good and very well priced. I gave 4 stars for the atmosphere only because I'm old school and love a bit of fishing themed art on the walls and music playing in the background while I wait or eat. This is by far the best investment for the area. We will be back for sure.

The BEST fish and chips weβve had in New Zealand to date and weβve tried a fair number since arriving three months ago. We had the gluten free version prepared in a separate fryer by a very friendly man. The fish was lovely and crispy with a flaky moist texture. The chips were wonderful as well!!! Just wish we were staying in the area a bit longer to indulge some more!!!
