This post is regarding an incident on 22 Nov 2025. This is such a disappointing one to make. My son and I had loved Cycleways. We went into pick up my son's bike which had a lot of work done, nearly $2000 worth. The whole process had been quite messy due to a booking error at the outset, at the time I took my son in so he could outline what needed doing as bikes are not my thing at all. It didn't get booked somehow. No problem they worked hard to fit it in which i appreciated. I took it in before booking to try and get a breakdown of pricing and go through what needed doing. All fine. Once dropped off I got a phone call to ask if I thought the bike needed a new cassette or just a tune up would do. I don't really know so go with what the mechanic says will work and be cheaper. Phone call in next day or so to say tune up didn't work as well as he thought for some mechanical reason and it wasn't changing smoothly did I want to go for replacement? I'm not sure and say I'll talk to my son and call back. We decide to go ahead with new cassette so I call back and say go for replacement. At this point the mechanic tells me the cassette will take a few days to arrive and the bike is rideable so we can take it for the weekend, this was Thursday. I was thrilled as it meant I didn't have a grumpy teen at home all weekend and didn't expect to have it. Drop it in on Monday morning no problem. Get a call on Wed to pick up. This is the nasty part. We are waiting at counter for shop assistant to go grab bike when the owner storms over to us and barks at us that the bike should never have left the shop. We were floored. I reply saying someone told us we could have it for the weekend. NO!!!! Didn't happen he shouts at us. We are stunned. I ask him why he is talking to us like this and try to give a detailed description of what happened. Talking like what he growls at me. At this stage I'm getting upset. I feel like I'm going to cry I say. He then scoffs and rolls his eyes at me. Nasty!!! I start to cry. My son is furious and I'm a mess. Eventually we leave paying the bill with me unable to stop crying, it was awful. My son did go back in and talk to the guys that work there which I appreciated. Lovely brave emotionally regulated 15 year old. Just saying. The owners behavior was disgraceful and I would reccomend people beware of him. What my son and I experienced was an angry vicious attack for no reason. A Bully in every sense of the word. So disappointing.

About a month ago I purchased a hardtail hybrid ebike with Cycleways and am very happy with it. Ed took all the time needed to explain and adjust the bike for me. However, a week later it didn't feel exactly the right frame, Matt ordered the next size up (no extra charge) and Ed went through the dialing in process again. After swapping over to the larger size, it fits perfectly and I am enjoying it. Anton did a thorough handover and I greatly apreciate the patience, knowledge and expertise Matt & his team have to make a customer feel welcomed. I can highly recommend Cycleways.

Great shop and products but it was the service that prompted me to review. Really good comms, written summary of the work done including tips and things to watch for, reasonable time charged for the job and great outcome. Great to find a mechanic and shop I trust and will use again.

Ah, Cycleways Bike Shop—a true gem of the bike repair world and, apparently, a haven for stranded gravel bikes needing a bit of TLC. My visit here was not just a transaction; it was an experience of unexpected camaraderie, stellar service, and the kind of goodwill you don’t always expect right after the festive chaos of Christmas. Here’s the blow-by-blow of what went down: • The Welcome: I was greeted by a friendly American bloke, the kind who makes you feel like you’ve just entered his home rather than a shop. Polite, cheerful, and dangerously competent—this guy knew his stuff. He took my forlorn Giant SLR gravel bike under his wing, nodding knowingly as I explained its myriad woes. • The Plan: A brake bleed? Done. A new 10-speed chain cut? Sorted. Promised me I could pick it up the next day, which is either mad optimism or sheer confidence at this time of year. • The Execution: True to their word, I got the “your bike is ready” text the very next day. I shot over quicker than a downhill run, and there she was, gleaming like new (well, close enough). • The Chain: Cut perfectly—no clanking, rattling, or regretful sighs. • The Brakes: Bled and back to stopping power. A year of neglect on the trainer? Consider it forgiven. • The Derailleurs: Oh, and they went rogue here in the best way—gave both the front and rear derailleurs a tweak, just because they could. Shifting was smoother than my best race day. • The Cost: $130 for the lot, and this included some above-and-beyond touches. For post-Christmas service, that’s a steal. • The Verdict: They’re not my regular bike shop, but they’re making a compelling case to be. The combination of excellent workmanship, reasonable pricing, and downright good vibes was enough to win me over. Would I recommend them? Absolutely. If you’ve got a gravel bike—or any bike, really—that’s been sitting around, Cycleways will whip it back into shape faster than you can say “brake bleed.” Final thoughts: They’re a good lot. Pop in if you want proper service without the faff.

Brought my wife’s muddy non shifting bike in. 2 days later, it came back super clean/waxed new chain and working like a dream, for a inexpensive cost , Very impressed, and I don’t get impressed.

Excellent service and competitive pricing. Just bought a bike that I didn't think I'd be able to afford, Dave and Anton figured out a way :-) Fantastic knowledge of all brands(not just what they stock) so helpful for comparing options and no pressure, but helpful guidance. At the bike pickup Anton did a really comprehensive handover and setup of suspension/controls/touchpoints and made sure I knew how to make adjustments going forward. I was extremely satisfied with the purchase and prior to the purchase the genuinely open discussion about selecting the right bike. Would buy again:-)
