   Mate, Matangi Fish and Chip Shop is an absolute gem! The chips were cooked spot on, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy in the middle, just how us Kiwis like ’em. Even on a packed Friday night, the crew smashed it out with top-notch service and a smile. Didn’t have to wait long at all, quick as! The burgers? Mean as! Juicy, full of flavour, and properly stacked. And the prices are sweet as too. good feed without breaking the bank. I’ve chucked up a photo of the menu for anyone keen to check it out, and a pic of my mate Olivia looking absolutely chuffed with her dinner- sums it up perfectly! If you’re after a classic Kiwi takeaway that nails it every time, Matangi Fish and Chips is the place to go. Bloody good tucker and even better vibes.

   Very yummy, but a long wait. Lesson: call first, as this is well worth a stop. Only dropped a star as my pineapple fritter didn't have cinnamon sugar and was wrapped with the chips, so soggy.

   Went here last night hoping for a couple of scoops of chips to accompany a BBQ. Well it did not disappoint. Great classic chip shop chips. Crispy, well seasoned and fluffy and even better the oil tasted fresh! Quick service, just a great local.

   For $5.60ish I got half a fillet of snapper. The small half. Pretty disappointed is an apt description. It was tasty, but I’m still disappointed.

   Cambridge is closer for me but I'd drive the extra distance just for the quality of both their fish and chips. I've tried all the fish and chips shops in Cambridge and I can't recommend any of them. This one is exceptionally good and I've eaten from them a number of times. Tonights meal was excellent again and I felt they deserved a write up here for their consistency in quality.
