   Not a very busy period but waited 30min for coffees & bagels. Chased order 15min in, to be told its coming.....it wasn't. Cancelled order & asked for refund. Went elsewhere & received great service & good food. Wont be going back here.

   Went there for a coffee and some breakfast on Wednesday the 12th of November 2025. Service was great, especially the blonde girl (sorry I never saw her name) who was bubbly, friendly and went out of her way to make you feel welcome. Caramel latte was tasty, as was the bacon egg bene bagel. Far superior Coffe Culture than any others i have visited in a long while. Great job guys.

   We stopped for a coffee and snack and I was amazed to see gluten free cheese rolls! I know its incredibly hard to make anything with gluten free bread and my husband had not had a cheese roll for so long! Even better his gluten free one was the same price as my non gluten free one! Top marks all around.

   Staff were friendly and helpful. I had coffee and brownie. Coffee was good and I enjoyed the brownie. It was quite busy and it’s quite a small cafe. Best to pick off peak times or it can be difficult to get tables. They have tables outside if the weather is nice.

   Good spot. Beverages are good. Food is good. Then hours are great, the atmosphere is just fine, too, as are the team. And that's the thing, it is tough to put your finger on - but it is perhaps lacking a little je ne sais quoi compared to other cafes. It's a hard one to rate this place because it does most things well, even very well and certainly nothing poorly or badly, but just lacks a vibe. Don't get me wrong, it's worth a visit - maybe you'll see what I mean. It's good, I visit, but not as often as other places as it's slightly soulless - in an entirely acceptable kind of way.

   The day we were there, they only had 2 staff members serving and a 20+ minute wait for a coffee...one guy making coffee and the other staff member doing EVERYTHING else. I noted several potential clients walk away due to the 20 minute wait. The poor girl serving was obviously stressed but doing a great job....until she dropped a plate and burst into tears. My partner jumped into action and helped her clear some tables and into the kitchen to help load the dishwasher. She was happy to help BUT...where was management??? Two "kids" running a busy Sunday afternoon cafe. Pretty poor on managements behalf I feel. HUGE ups to the two staff members who had to battle on regardless....you guys did all you could and did it well! Five stars to you two! Management, wake up to your responsibilities or your business will suffer. We will not be back anytime soon!

   Like all Coffee Culture you can get great coffee here. Coffee Culture Merivale is located on the northern side of the Merivale Mall on Papanui Road. A small shop which means you may struggle to find a seat. But of course no problem as they can provide a takeaway coffee. There is a good range of cakes, favourites and nice wraps. Coffee Culture Merivale is certainly worthy of visiting if you have the time and want a great coffee. Back here early Jan 2022 and its all good as it was before. A nice place to meet and talk.
