We were surprised at how big town centre was! It's only 20mins from Te Aroha and maybe 30mins from Hamton. Awesome town filled with surprises, plenty of cafes, bakeries and pub/steak at the historical hotel/restaurant going back 1941. Very friendly locals who didn't mind a chat with us.
We stopped off in Morrinsville because we saw the big cow and the cow trail on Google. The painted cows around the town were brilliant, mostly all within walking distance of each other so easy to see lots of them. Would definitely recommend a stop off to see some cows if you’re nearby.
Apart from the fact that there are some lovely painted cow sculptures scattered around the town the shopping center is dismal to say the least. Lots of empty shops and 2 dollar stores and not much else.
Really interesting selection of shops..a change from big retail stores, and lots of places to grab a coffee for someone passing through and needing to stretch their legs.
Lovely town with some great bakeries and cafe's. Great place too play spot the cow with young children.
