   I went to Spotlight Christchurch with my family on 3rd of January. This is an amazing place and staff members are wonderful We wanted to buy curtains. Christine from curtain section , measured our old curtains, guided us and made sure we got everything before we leave. That was amazing. Another last from Cushion section was extremely helpful, even though she injured her knee before that. Finally Melanie was at check out. She was nice, gentle and kind. We had lots of enjoyable shopping there. I will come back here again.

   The grumpy mature lady with the hand brace who does click and collect is extremely rude. Made me laugh though as we left when my daughter said I hope your hand gets better soon she didn't know what to say especially after being so rude to us for no apparent reason other than having to sort our order. You don't like people then don't work in customer service plain and simple.

   As much as I love the variety of products for my crafts, the customer service always leaves me upset and uncomfortable to shop and come back, most of the workers seem to not want to be there, or not want to help like it's inconvenient. Christine at the fabric desk was stone cold to me, she looked at me like I was incompetent, I work in retail myself and I understand especially when it's Black Friday that times can be tough and exhausting, but I made sure to be clear and gentle with what was wanting and giving my loyalty information. She was not having it.

   I do watercolour paintings and I love Spotlight's range of photo frames to put my paintings in. The Frame Depot brand has nicely mitred corners and strong clips, and come in protective covers with cardboard shields on the corners. Spotlight stocks a comprehensive range of these, and usually on a good discount.

   Staff are always friendly and even though there's a wait to get fabric cut sometimes, it's understandable. Very helpful with finding what you need and pretty good at replacing/refunding when needed

   The staff seem to be OK. One lady criticising what I brought. She was quite rude to me and making me think I shouldn't have brought them. Overall, the layout in store is too much for me. It's so not easy to find something quickly as every rows in the store are so close together and too busy. Everything is jam packed together. However, they do have very good things in there.

   We went with our Grand late 20's granddaughter to get a dress pattern and material to make up same. Good selection of pattern books, excellent choice of materials..However, some staff were very helpful, but not all! A fair selection of patterns, but mainly size 14-18 and some of the newer larger sized ones not so many 10-14s. Maybe young women of those smaller sizes don't make their own clothes. Really irritating was the fact that several of the made-up patterns on manikins were sold out! When I pointed this out, the assistant said "yes that often happens". End of exchange! Just walking through it's obvious that there isn't much on the homemaker's list that you can't get there, at a very competitive price. You can even click and collect, saving yourself an unnecessary trip.
