   I’ve heard from plenty of people that Empire Chicken used to be great, but unfortunately I haven’t had a good experience at their stores. My recent spicy sando had a stale bun and thin, dry chicken. They recently reached out on Reddit asking for feedback to improve quality, but it doesn’t seem like much has changed. The only time I’ve had a good experience from Empire has been a pop-up/food truck — the store locations just don’t seem to match that standard. Hoping they can lift the quality back to what people say it once was.

   I was recently visiting Christchurch with my family and we got some lunch here on Sunday 30th Nov Im kicking myself that I cant remember the ladies name, But there was a Spanish or Mexican lady working on this day. It was very busy and it was obvious that she was under immense stress and pressure to keep up with the customers/orders. In spite of this she was incredibly kind and served everyone so well. She took care and applied impressive attention to detail with the handover of the food, cutlery, napkins etc. I could understand someone rushed of their feet dropping standards slightly but it was very refreshing and inspiring to see her deliver the best customer service you could ask for. She is a credit to the company and she deserves meaningful recognition for her contribution to the customer experience.

   Really enjoyed my meal. They subbed chicken for cauliflower bites. Chips were lovely. Had the mo burger and there was a lovely tang off the pineapple and guac. Good music and vibes. First fast food place i have ate that didnt leave me feeling heavy and gross. Yummy.

   Pretty disappointed to receive what I got especially when the people who ordered after me got their two full meals well before me and all I ordered was a “wrap” which was actually just a small taco. You try to support local businesses and this is how they repay you. The tortilla was real tough to bite into. The chicken was super dry and chewy! Probably the last time I eat at empire chicken. Feeling ripped off. If you’re tossing up between here and shaka.. Id go to Shaka!

   The chicken strips were awesome. Crispy tasty breading and succulent tender chicken. Grabbed a spicy burger and said on menu it’s Very Very spicy but don’t panic it’s actually not that bad unless you an old lady. Fantastic burger too!

   Markets itself as “the best fried chicken in New Zealand.” It’s not. It was pretty good though (the fries less so) and the friendly service almost made up for the price and long wait time. I enjoyed it (the aioli sauce carried) but I don’t think I’ll be back.

   I usually don't write bad reviews, but let me explain what happened. Firstly, the lady at the counter gave my order of wings to someone else, even though my order buzzer was lit up. Then she assured me that my order wouldn't take much time. However, when they finally gave me an order, it turned out to be the wrong one that I didn't even place. The price I paid was more than the order they gave me The only mistake I made was not checking the order before taking it. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this place because of how they treated me. If possible, I suggest avoiding it.

   This is a review for empires other store EMPIRE BURGER BAR. Food ordered via Uber eats, great service from the driver, but that's where it stops. Burger was cold and bun very stale and crumbled to bits. First bite revealed a cold and stewed texture patty, not a smash buregr or even close. On inspection it was raw all the way through and inedible. Tried to contact via their Instagram page and through the empire chicken Page. No response. Uber eats came back to me the next day as it was a FOOD SAFETY ISSUE. And was refunded by Uber Not empire. Was left with no food for the night as it was too late to order anything else suitable and having spent money on food that was borderline dangerous, I wasn't prepared to spend more. Do yourself a favor and spend your hard earned elsewhere.

   Food was tasty and prices aren't too bad. Got the wings which had a nice crispy coating that went everywhere. You get a small portion of sauce, which should be more for the amount of wings you get. They were also full of oil and needed draining a bit more.

   Great place! I've been here a number of times and can safely say that I've tried this on several occasions. My favourite order is the wings. The staff are always friendly and if something were to go wrong then they can work it out and no worries. Highly recommend and I make sure to visit whenever I am in Christchurch.
