Had the breakfast bap twice now (I don't even live in Chch) and it's the best damn breakfast burger I've had. Can't wait for my next one!

I can be very indecisive, especially when trying to decide what to eat. It’s because I get excited over food and it’s hard to narrow down decisions. After walking all over Riverside Walk, I decided to get a salmon Benedict at Riverside Butchery. And I was so happy with that decision! It was absolutely delicious! Thick, crispy hash brown patties substituted bread. The salmon was flaky and I liked the textural contrast of the crispy kumara on top. The yolks on the eggs were perfectly runny and brought the entire dish together. I was so full afterwards that I couldn’t eat lunch (though I did have a small smoothie about an hour later). There are narrow tables across the stall where you can eat. The price point seems high, but it reflects the quality of their food. I was only in Christchurch for the day and I wish I had more time to try out their menu.

Bangers and mash are worth trying, very juicy and tasty sausages with delicious gravy. Shepherd's pie is also very nice, with a good ratio of meat and potatoes.

Go here for breakfast immediately! You can tell the butcher knows how to treat bacon, somehow crispy but buttery soft to cut and chew, not tough at all! I was waxing lyrical about the egg bacon roll the entire time I was eating it and have jumped in here to tell everyone coz you NEED to try this. There was some form of delicious chutney/mayo/cheese added that took this to a whole other level - wow. Dooo it dooo it do it!

The steak egg and chips was delicious. The food was great and the staff were friendly. The steak was cooked perfectly rare and the gravy added a great touch to the food. The egg was runny and innovative, the tartar was great, and the chips were crispy and delicious. I highly recommend people to eat here, especially if they are visiting Riverside Market.

Delicious steak and fries. They didn’t even ask us for how we wanted the steak and still cooked us a perfect rare. Would definitely recommend.

Asked if they had anything gluten free... Silly question. Most of it was gf. Chef Ryan was great." If it's not gf I can deconstruct it and make whatever you want". We chose pork spare ribs and lamb croquettes. It was great to watch a talented chef who obviously Ioves his work preparing our meals. Friendly, cheerful service. Super delicious food carefully seasoned. We will be back!
