I hadnβt been to Shellrock for ages, but I called in tonight and placed an order. I received a beautiful full fillet of snapper cooked to perfection and the chips were golden and crunchy. Best Iβve had in a long time. Thank you Shellrock.
These are best Fish & Chips I have had in a while! My previous local change hands recently and so did the cooking, so we found Shell rock Takeaways driving around one evening. Now we will drive from Ohauiti for great takeaways!
Most amazing fish and chips, old school potato fritters which are great and always fresh fish and beautiful chips I would highly recommend to anyone, friendly staff, def the only place we get fish and chips at the mount β¦. Thanks guys
great service from the young lady last night. an excellent burger for the price, lots of cheese! got a combo for $20 with two fish two chips two crab sticks and two potato fritters. all the food was fresh and tasty. highly recommend this spot for a good classic kiwi feed of fish n chips. take them down to the beach. yum!
had some great chips here with my mates on my birthday. beautifully crunchy and heaps for low price.

These were the best chips I had ever had in my entire life. I was visiting Tauranga for the weekend and chose this place for dinner for two of those nights, best decision I had ever made. Sure the chips are a little more expensive than back in Christchurch but they are so worth it, and you get 4 different options of chips to choose from being; Fresh Cut Potato, Shoestring, Kumara and Wedges all for $5 a scoop. They had the best battered sausage I've ever had and they also sell this little Lasagna Square for $3 and I miss that more than anything now that I'm back home, it was so delicious. The owner was also really cool and struck a good conversation and hit me with a compliment towards my wallet, I've never felt more connected to a fish and chip shop in my life and that was just in 2 days. I had been shopping at one other fish and chip shop for nearly 2 decades and I don't nearly have enough of a positive connection with them as I did with the guys here. I want to go back to Tauranga just for this store. No Joke.
Great fish n chips. Crumbled fish was top notch, hot dogs unfortunately came with sauce on and we don't like sauce. Pretty great overall.
Fish was ok. Chips were sloppy and tasted old/reheated. I've noticed there are a few complaints about your chips, you should really look into your quality that you're putting out. Customer service was bad, didn't say one word to me when I picked up the order and just threw the bag down on the table.
