What an incredible experience! I went in for a trim and decided to get deep conditioning too. The students and instructor were so positive and competent! I learned a lot too and finally got answers to questions I’ve been asking for years! Carve out some time to experience this great crew and environment! My hair looks great and I’ll be back (as this has become my fav salon!) Amelia, Jade, Paige, and Pauline are exceptional!

I had one of my regular appointments at Hair To Train today. Without exception I have always found the students polite, engaged, keen to learn, accepting of training and learning to be aware of each client's needs. Today was as good as any other. Thankyou to Andre and Pauline for always being super friendly and attentive to every student in a positive way. I enjoy seeing new students progress in their course and have often had senior students do my whole appontment so professionally.

My relative completed her training here and found the experience extremely unprofessional and disorganised. Communication around assessments was poor—she often didn’t know whether she had passed exams or what was required next. She was thrown into situations without adequate preparation or support, which caused her anxiety to worsen.
There was no structured theory learning, and she was left to manage on her own without a designated tutor. When she left, she discovered none of her credits had been submitted to NZQA, meaning she had to restart her training from scratch. This was devastating, as she had already put in so much time and effort and lost her passion for hairdressing because of this experience.
She also paid for her hairdressing kit, and when she went to collect it after leaving, several items were missing, and she was told she couldn’t have them.
On a positive note, she is now with a much better training provider that offers proper support and she is thriving—but unfortunately, she now has to redo her first year and pay for three years of fees instead of two.
I would strongly recommend looking into other training providers before committing here.

Always a pleasure to have the girls at HTT do my hair, they are friendly and great learners, I appreciate how patient they are with clients requests & needs.
The students are frequently monitored by their tutors so they are not out on a limb, they execute my service well every time. They are students but do an amazing job so, if you are new or sceptical about students cutting or colouring your hair, they are great listeners and well looked after by their tutors.

Salon was quite loud and couldn’t hear my stylist and was told it was the manager and his students very unprofessional and quite rude personally due to other clients can’t hear their stylist either. The salon was doing very incredible until just recently when the loudness, rudeness and been inconsiderate to their surroundings.

I have just moved back to NZ and hadn't yet found a hairdresser so decided upon Hair to Train as I felt like being in a more relaxed environment. My trainees today were Sharn, assisted by Tilly and Veronica. Sharn did an amazing colour, I last had my colour done in a lovely Dubai salon and Sharn did an equally, if not better colour and a lovely trim. Veronica did a fab blowdry too, thank you! The students were all very friendly, very competent and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

They’re centrally located, the atmosphere is friendly, and the service excellent. While procedures can take longer you can be assured of good quality service as tutors are on hand to double check every stage of treatment. So while being able to look good on a budget you’re also helping up and coming student stylists achieve their goals. Take it from me you’ll be glad you checked them out.
