   During my stay, I found the rooms to be small but tidy, clean, and modest — simple yet well-kept. Housekeeping was reliable, with fresh sheets and towels provided every two days and dishes taken care of, which added a nice touch of convenience. The linen itself was particularly comfortable, soft, and spotless, making for a pleasant sleep. The staff weren’t always stationed at the front desk, but whenever assistance was needed, they responded promptly and helpfully. Facilities like the laundry are a little dated, though still functional enough for everyday use. There are a few downsides worth noting: sound carries easily through the walls and doors, so conversations outside can be heard if people are loud. The property is a moderate walk from the shops on Riccarton Street — not right next door, but close enough to be manageable. Also, with no fans or air conditioning, warmer summer nights around 20°C can feel slightly uncomfortable. Overall, it’s a modest and practical place to stay, with clean rooms, comfortable bedding, and dependable service, balanced against a few quirks that come with its simplicity.

   Lulu and Max were very helpful with information and advices, they went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Our accommodation was spacious, warm and had a good quality bed. Lovely quiet area and also within walking distance to Riccarton Mall. Very good value.

   Fantastic and quiet motel nestled in the neighborhood. I booked the queen bedroom, and it had all the essentials, including a small pot and hot plate for simple cooking. Parking was plentiful (in front of your room), lots of coffee and tea (reception even gives you a complimentary bottle of milk), and room had a space heater + heated blanket for the winter. Very close to botanic gardens and about 30 min walk from downtown Christchurch!

   I highly recommend Ashleigh Court Motel in Christchurch. It is a gem. The room and bed were very comfortable. The kitchenette was well equipped with enough glasses, mugs and crockery. There was a great shower with really hot water and good quality towels. It is in such a quiet, serene setting with lots of trees and birds, so close to Mona Vale and Hagley Park as well as Riccarton Shopping Mall so is super convenient! The new owner was very helpful and kind. We were there at Christmas and the new owners treated us to lovely Christmas lights and a sweet treat for the family which was so special. Thanks Lulu - we will be back!

   On a cool day we arrived to find the heater had been turned on in our one bedroom unit which was appreciated. How good to have comfortable furniture to sit and watch tv. Living room, bedroom and bathroom of a good size. Bathroom had all one would want in terms of heat, towels, soap, body wash and shampoo/conditioner. Shower plenty big enough certainly bigger than most. Kitchenette provided all we needed. Bed provided a good night's sleep. Could not fault the cleanliness of our unit. We have stayed in many motels and this would be one of the better ones. We have now found accommodation for future our visits to Christchurch.

   I have an extreme sore back after staying here last week. The bed was the most uncomfortable, the stove only goes on super hot so burnt food is almost guaranteed, not only that but the motel man obviously has little man issues as I twice witness him running round the place with his big boy boots on telling motel guests off. And FYI there’s rats in the walls. Yuck. But it is pet friendly and cameras everywhere so ur stuff is safe :)

   Let's start with the positives. It is very clean, quiet and close to amenities and the moteliers are very obliging. But it is very poorly equipped. We had a full oven and cook top but no ovenproof dish to cook in, and not very many utensils. There was also a problem with the unit I had specifically booked and the one we were given. I had specifically asked for 2 beds and the one we were given only had 1.
